About the Role
Meluha International School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice Principal to provide academic and operational leadership across Grades 1–12. The Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal to ensure the effective implementation of the school's vision, academic standards, student development programs, and day-to-day school operations.
This role is ideal for an accomplished educational leader who can inspire teachers, foster academic excellence, drive continuous improvement, and create a positive learning environment for students and staff. The Vice Principal will play a critical role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while ensuring the smooth functioning of all academic and student-related activities across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management
- Support the Principal in planning, implementing, and monitoring academic programs across Grades 1–12.
- Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with CBSE guidelines, school objectives, and best educational practices.
- Monitor academic performance and develop strategies to improve student achievement.
- Review lesson plans, assessments, and teaching methodologies to maintain academic excellence.
- Lead curriculum enhancement initiatives and promote innovative teaching practices.
2. Teacher Leadership & Development
- Supervise Academic Coordinators, Heads of Departments, and teaching staff.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to improve instructional effectiveness.
- Mentor and coach teachers to enhance professional growth and classroom performance.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning among staff.
3. School Operations & Administration
- Assist in the overall administration and management of the school.
- Ensure smooth execution of academic calendars, examinations, timetables, and school events.
- Monitor compliance with CBSE regulations, school policies, and educational standards.
- Support resource planning and effective utilisation of school facilities.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure efficient school operations.
4. Student Development & Discipline
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.
- Oversee student discipline and behavioural management systems.
- Address student concerns and work closely with teachers, coordinators, and counsellors to support student well-being.
- Encourage student participation in academic, co-curricular, and leadership activities.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and overall development.
5. Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians.
- Meet parents to discuss academic performance, behavioural concerns, and student development when required.
- Represent the school during parent meetings, orientation programs, and community events.
- Promote effective communication between the school and families to strengthen student success.
6. Strategic Planning & School Improvement
- Assist the Principal in implementing school improvement initiatives and long-term strategic goals.
- Analyse academic and operational data to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead quality assurance processes and contribute to accreditation and compliance requirements.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the school's reputation, student outcomes, and educational standards.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.
- B.Ed. mandatory.
- Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or Management will be an advantage.
- Minimum 10+ years of teaching experience in CBSE schools.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role such as Vice Principal, Academic Head, Academic Coordinator, Head of School, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, educational policies, and school operations.
