Full job description

We are building a collection of casual and brain-training games featuring animated characters, objects, and interactive scenes.

We are looking for a talented 2D Game Animator who can create smooth, engaging, and reusable animations for use in mobile and web-based games.

The work will involve animating characters and game assets viewed from various camera angles, with a strong emphasis on readability, personality, and game-friendly animation loops.

Responsibilities

Create high-quality 2D character animations
Animate game assets and interactive objects
Produce smooth looping animations suitable for gameplay
Animate character movement, interactions, reactions, and idle behaviors
Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure animations work well in-game
Maintain consistency across multiple characters and game themes
Create animations that are optimized for mobile and web games

Types of Animations Needed

Examples include:

Idle animations
Walk cycles
Run cycles
Turning animations
Interaction animations
Reaction animations
Group interaction animations
Gesture animations
Short gameplay loops
Character state transitions

Deliverables

Preferred formats:

Transparent PNG sequences
Sprite sheets
Layered source files (Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

Bonus:

Spine animation files
Rive animation files
Other game-ready animation formats

Requirements

Experience with 2D character animation
Strong understanding of animation principles such as timing, spacing, anticipation, follow-through, and squash & stretch
Ability to create natural and believable movement
Experience creating looping animations for games
Ability to follow existing art styles and visual references
Attention to consistency and detail
