Full job description

As an SI Engineer you are the execution core of our Migration Factory. You migrate concrete legacy workloads — Oozie workflows, Spark jobs, Hive tables, Kafka topics, BI reports and ML notebooks — to the Rakuten Data & AI Platform across five countries. You work within defined wave batches (Waves 1–6), run four-gate validation for every workload, and travel in-country for UAT, training sessions, and go-live. Travel and accommodation cost will be fully covered by company.

Execute assigned migration workloads across country. Build data pipelines on the Rakuten No-Code ETL canvas and orchestration layer Run four-gate validation: schema conformance, data reconciliation (delta <0.1%), performance benchmarking (110% of source SLA), and UAT sign-off Migrate BI reports across Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, and Jasper to new data source endpoints Support CDC source setup (Debezium) and Kafka topic pipeline migration (UC-11/12) Port ML notebooks and pipelines into Rakuten AI Studio / MLOps / AI Hub (UC-15) Write country-specific operational runbooks and populate Confluence knowledge base Deliver training packages in-country. Contribute to the mutualized West Africa Skill Centre for L1/L2 post-cutover support Support integration with external ecosystem tools: Starburst, Dataiku, Apigee, Kong, FastAPI
4+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or systems integration Hands-on with 3+ of: Apache Spark, Hive/Impala, Oozie, NiFi, Kafka, Airflow Python or Scala for data pipeline development; strong SQL and schema migration skills Experience with at least one BI tool: Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, or Jasper GitLab / Git version control and CI/CD pipeline fundamentals Familiarity with S3-compatible object storage (AWS S3, MinIO, or CNOS) Exposure to Kubernetes-based data platforms is a plus Comfortable travelling to West/North Africa for 1–2 week stints per wave

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year

Experience:

Telecommunication: 3 years (Preferred)
