Job Description

Assistant Professor – Hindi Language Literature

The institution invites applications for the post of Assistant Professor in Hindi from qualified, enthusiastic, and academically committed candidates who are passionate about teaching, research, language development, and student mentoring.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must possess a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Hindi with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

Candidate is expected to be NET/SET qualified.

Recruitment will be on a contract basis.

Consolidated salary: Rs. 50,000/- per month.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching Academic Delivery

Teach postgraduate courses in Hindi Language and Literature, including MA Hindi programme, basket courses, and minor courses as assigned by the department.

Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, and instructional resources in alignment with curriculum and academic standards.

Adopt innovative and learner-centric teaching methodologies, including blended learning, ICT-enabled teaching, seminars, tutorials, and experiential learning practices.

Guide students in academic writing, communication skills, literary criticism, translation studies, creative writing, and research-oriented learning.

Mentor students for academic growth, career guidance, competitive examinations, and higher education opportunities.

2. Curriculum Development Academic Enrichment

Participate actively in syllabus design, curriculum revision, and academic planning activities of the department.

Contribute to timetable preparation and outcome-based education initiatives.

Organize and coordinate guest lectures, literary activities, workshops, seminars, conferences, Hindi language enrichment programmes, and cultural events.

3. Examination, Evaluation Assessment

Undertake paper setting, invigilation, evaluation, and assessment work related to university and institutional examinations.

Prepare question papers, model answers, and assessment reports while maintaining transparency and confidentiality in examination procedures.

Evaluate assignments, projects, presentations, dissertations, and research work as per institutional norms.

Maintain academic records, attendance, internal assessment, and continuous evaluation reports.

4. Research Professional Development

Engage actively in research activities, publications, faculty development programmes, academic collaborations, and literary research.

Encourage students to participate in research projects, literary forums, creative writing activities, and scholarly discussions.

Contribute and present research papers in conferences, seminars, and journals, and support the institution’s research culture.

5. Co-curricular Extra-curricular Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate literary, cultural, language, and extra-curricular activities for the holistic development of students.

Support institutional events such as debates, poetry recitations, drama, creative writing competitions, Hindi language clubs, cultural festivals, and extension activities.

6. Committee Work

Efficiently handle responsibilities related to departmental and institutional committees as allotted by the HOI/Director.

Participate in documentation and reporting of academic and institutional activities.

Assist in admission processes and student-related administrative work.

Work collaboratively with faculty members and administrative staff for the smooth functioning of the institution.

Required Skills

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in Hindi.

Ability to manage academic, administrative, and student-related responsibilities effectively.

Proficiency in ICT-enabled teaching methods and academic documentation.

Commitment to institutional values, teamwork, and continuous professional development.

Experience in creative writing, translation, media writing, content development, or Hindi journalism will be an added advantage.
