Job Description – Sales Executive / Clinical Genomics & Molecular Diagnostics

Position: Sales Executive – Clinical Genomics & Molecular Diagnostics
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Industry: Pharmaceutical / Hospital / Diagnostic / Healthcare Sales

Job Summary

We are looking for a target-oriented and experienced Sales Executive to drive business development and sales for advanced diagnostic and clinical genomics testing services.

The ideal candidate should have 2–5 years of proven field sales experience in the pharmaceutical, hospital, diagnostic, healthcare, medical device, or related healthcare industry.

The candidate will be responsible for developing business through doctor visits, hospital and clinic relationships, lead generation, case conversion, and achievement of sales targets.

Candidates with prior experience in Clinical Genomics, Molecular Diagnostics, Genetic Testing, or Advanced Diagnostics will have an added advantage but are not mandatory.

Important: Candidates with only Research, Laboratory, Academic, Clinical, or Technical experience and without proven sales/business development experience are not eligible.Key Responsibilities

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and business development targets.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with doctors, hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, and healthcare institutions.
Conduct regular field visits to doctors, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare professionals to generate business.
Generate new leads and convert potential customers into business opportunities.
Promote advanced diagnostic and genetic testing services to relevant healthcare professionals.
Identify potential doctors and specialists who can generate relevant diagnostic test referrals.
Build and maintain a strong network of healthcare professionals and referral sources.
Follow up on leads, patient cases, and business opportunities to ensure successful conversion.
Coordinate with the laboratory, phlebotomy, logistics, and backend teams for smooth sample collection and report delivery.
Conduct product presentations and explain the clinical utility and benefits of relevant diagnostic tests to doctors.
Maintain regular follow-up with existing customers and develop new accounts.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and business opportunities in the assigned territory.
Maintain accurate records of doctor visits, leads, customer interactions, follow-ups, and sales performance.
Take ownership of the assigned territory and ensure consistent business growth.

Detailed product training will be provided to suitable candidates, where required.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
2–5 years of proven field sales experience is mandatory.
Candidates from Pharma Sales, Hospital Sales, Diagnostic Sales, Healthcare Sales, Medical Device Sales, or Healthcare Business Development backgrounds are preferred.
Strong experience in doctor/consultant relationship management and field sales.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating business.
Experience in Clinical Genomics, Molecular Diagnostics, Genetic Testing, or Advanced Diagnostics will be an added advantage.
Candidates with only research, laboratory, academic, or technical experience without sales experience will not be considered.

Strong local market knowledge and existing doctor/hospital relationships will be an advantage.
