Territory Sales Officer (Seeds)

Job Summary

Geneva Seeds, the seed division of JP Agro Innovations Pvt. Ltd., is looking for a dynamic, motivated and result-oriented Territory Sales Officer (Seeds) for our Solan territory.

The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing the dealer and distributor network, expanding market presence, conducting farmer engagement activities and promoting the company's seed portfolio across the assigned territory.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the agricultural market, strong communication skills and a willingness to undertake extensive field travel.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, retailers and farmers.
Identify and appoint new dealers/distributors to expand market reach.
Develop new markets and increase penetration of Geneva Seeds products.
Conduct regular field and market visits across the assigned territory.
Organize farmer meetings, crop visits, field demonstrations and product promotional activities.
Promote seed products and communicate their features, benefits and recommended practices.
Build relationships with progressive farmers and key agricultural influencers.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, promotional activities and market trends.
Collect market feedback and provide regular updates to the reporting manager.
Follow up on sales orders, product movement and outstanding payments as per company policy.
Ensure proper product availability and visibility at dealer/retailer points.
Implement company sales and marketing strategies effectively.
Maintain accurate records of field visits, sales activities and market development.
Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
Coordinate with internal teams regarding orders, product availability and customer requirements.
Travel extensively within the assigned territory for business development and sales activities.

Strong sales and business development skills.
Good knowledge of the seed/agriculture industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong dealer, distributor and farmer relationship-management skills.
Good negotiation and convincing abilities.
Target-oriented and result-driven approach.
Strong networking and market-development skills.
Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and sales reporting.
Fluency in Hindi; knowledge of local Himachali/Pahari languages will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of the local agricultural market will be preferred.

Educational Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

B.Sc. Agriculture
B.Sc. Horticulture
B.Tech. Agriculture / Agricultural Engineering
Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent qualification

Candidates from other relevant educational backgrounds may also be considered based on their experience in seeds, fertilizers, pesticides or other agricultural inputs.

Experience

1–4 years of relevant experience in sales/marketing, preferably in the seed or agri-input industry.
Experience in dealer/distributor management and field sales will be preferred.
Freshers with an agriculture background and strong sales aptitude may also apply.

Candidate Profile

Willing to work extensively in the field and travel within the assigned territory.
Knowledge of the Solan and adjoining agricultural markets will be an advantage.
Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
Self-motivated, energetic and comfortable working with sales targets.
Good communication and negotiation abilities.
Must have a two-wheeler and valid driving licence.
Candidates available to join at short notice will be preferred.
