This is a cross-functional sales operations leadership role - not merely a sales coordination position. The selected professional will become the central link between customers and BOS teams, ensuring that every commitment is captured, monitored, and fulfilled with speed, accuracy, and ownership.
Job Summary :
The Manager - Sales Operations will lead and coordinate the complete sales operations cycle - from receipt of a customer requirement through order execution, stock planning, dispatch, delivery, payment follow-up and closure. The role will coordinate Sales, Purchase, Logistics, Warehouse, Quality, and Finance, while maintaining accurate and proactive communication with customers. This is primarily an office-based role and does not involve regular field sales.
1. Order-to-delivery management
- Manage the complete order lifecycle from enquiry and purchase order receipt to final delivery. Verify specifications, quantities, prices, commercial terms and delivery schedules. Prepare and monitor order-execution plans and pending-order schedules.
- Track material allocation, processing, documentation, dispatch, and delivery.
- Identify potential delays early and initiate corrective action.
- Maintain accurate, real-time order visibility for customers and internal stakeholders. 2. Customer communication and escalation
- Act as the primary operational coordination contact for assigned customers.
- Provide proactive, accurate updates on orders, stock, processing and dispatch.
- Record and track every commitment made to a customer.
- Resolve concerns promptly and escalate critical delays or supply risks to functional heads. Maintain professional and consistent communication across email, telephone and CRM.
3. Stock and dispatch planning
- Coordinate material availability with Purchase, Warehouse and Logistics.
- Match customer orders with available and incoming inventory.
- Prioritise dispatches based on customer commitments and business needs.
- Monitor reserved, customer-specific and slow-moving inventory.
- Coordinate transport planning and timely dispatch documentation.
- Support 'never stock-out' programmes for selected anchor customers.
4. Sales MIS and forecasting
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly sales operations reports.
- Maintain customer-wise order books, pending orders and expected dispatch schedules. Compare forecasts with actual orders, dispatches and deliveries.
- Highlight supply gaps, lost-sales opportunities and execution risks.
- Support management reviews with concise data, insights and recommended actions. 5. CRM discipline and follow-ups
- Ensure enquiries, quotations, orders, commitments and follow-ups are recorded correctly. Maintain high standards of CRM completeness and data accuracy.
- Monitor open actions, assign priorities and follow up with responsible colleagues. Drive timely closure of customer enquiries and internal action points.
6. Payment and overdue coordination
- Coordinate with Sales and Finance for timely collection of customer payments. Monitor due and overdue invoices and facilitate structured follow-up.
- Highlight emerging payment risks and unresolved account issues.
- Ensure dispatch decisions comply with approved credit terms and company policy. Support customer account reconciliation and closure of commercial discrepancies.
7. Cross-functional coordination
- Coordinate Sales, Purchase, Finance, Quality, Warehouse and Logistics around one execution plan. Set work priorities and allocate operational tasks to team members.
- Conduct short, structured order-review meetings where required.
- Escalate unresolved issues with facts, impact and recommended action.
- Create processes, checklists and accountability mechanisms that reduce dependence on individuals. 8. Customer complaints and service recovery
- Register and acknowledge complaints promptly.
- Coordinate root-cause analysis with Quality, Warehouse, Logistics and Sales. Track corrective and preventive actions through closure.
- Keep the customer informed throughout the resolution process.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend systemic improvements.

Candidate profile - essential
- Graduate degree in commerce, management, engineering or a related discipline. Minimum eight years of professional experience.
- Strong experience in B2B customer handling, sales coordination, customer service or sales operations. Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, priorities and stakeholders simultaneously. Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, email communication, MIS and CRM systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving business environment.
Preferred experience
- Steel, metals, automotive components, engineering, manufacturing, distribution or industrial products. Inventory planning, dispatch management, logistics and commercial documentation. Coordination with warehouses, transporters and manufacturing customers.
- Guiding or coordinating a small internal team.
- Candidates residing around Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Mundhwa, Wanowrie or nearby areas are preferred because this is an office-based role.
