What you'll actually do
Own the culture engine. You run Mélange's social presence end to end: Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and wherever the audience moves next. Not a content calendar babysitter. A voice. You decide what we sound like when a trend breaks at 9am and we need to be in it by noon.
Trend-spot before the trend report. You catch formats, sounds, and memes while they're still rising. You know the difference between a trend worth jumping and a trend that dies by Thursday. If your Explore page is a research tool, you're our person.
Live the FAM trips. You'll travel on familiarisation trips with creators and celebrities to destinations we market. On-ground, you're capturing BTS, directing quick-turn content, managing talent energy on set, and turning a 4-day trip into 4 weeks of content. This is a must-have: you've done creator trips or shoots on location before and you know they're 20% glamour, 80% logistics and hustle.
Direct the frame. You have a real production eye. You can look at a shot and know the light is wrong, the hook lands at second 2 not second 5, and the edit needs a beat cut. You can shoot and edit competent vertical video yourself, and brief videographers and editors like someone who's held the camera.
Manage talent like a pro. Creators and celebrities are our raw material. You coordinate them, brief them, keep them happy on shoot days, and build relationships that make them want to work with us again. Ego management is a skill. You have it.
Build the internal culture too. Team wins, office energy, shoot-day chaos, founder moments. You make Mélange a place people want to work at by showing what it's like to work here.
What you bring
- 2 to 4 years running social for a brand, agency, creator, or media company, with work you're proud to show
- Proven on-ground experience: FAM trips, influencer shoots, brand trips, or location productions (non-negotiable)
- Shooting and editing chops: CapCut / Premiere / mobile-first workflows, plus enough camera sense to direct others
- Talent-handling experience with creators, influencers, or celebrities
- Native fluency in Indian internet culture AND global travel content
- A bias for speed: you'd rather post the 8/10 today than the 10/10 next week
- Comfort with ambiguity, travel, and a lean 20-person team where you own outcomes, not tasks

We shoot destination campaigns with creators and celebrities for tourism boards across the world. We need someone who can hold the camera, cut the edit, and make a 15-second reel that gets someone to book a flight. Based in Goa. Travelling often.

What you'll actually do
Shoot everything, everywhere. Destination campaigns, creator FAM trips, celebrity shoots, BTS, brand films, quick-turn reels. One week it's sunrise at a beach in Goa, next month it's a tourism board shoot overseas. You're comfortable running a shoot solo AND slotting into a bigger crew.
Edit like the algorithm is watching. Because it is. You cut vertical-first: hooks in the first 2 seconds, pace that holds retention, sound design that isn't an afterthought. You can turn a day's footage into a reel the same night. Then also deliver the polished 60-second campaign cut a tourism board signs off on.
Own the gear and the workflow. Cameras, gimbals, drones, audio, lighting for run-and-gun setups. You manage your own kit, backups, media management, and file hygiene. Losing footage is the one unforgivable sin here.
Work with talent, not just tripods. Creators and celebrities are in front of your lens constantly. You know how to direct someone gently, catch candid moments without making it weird, and keep energy up on hour 9 of a shoot day.
Move at trend speed. A sound is blowing up? We're shooting the format tomorrow, edited by evening. You'll work directly with our social team to build content that rides trends while they're still alive.
Build the visual language. You're not executing someone else's shot list forever. Bring references, pitch formats, develop a look that makes Mélange content recognisable in half a scroll.
What you bring
- 2 to 4 years shooting and editing professionally: agency, production house, creator team, or a serious freelance run
- A reel that proves it (this matters more than your CV)
- Strong vertical/social editing: Premiere Pro or DaVinci, plus fast mobile workflows like CapCut when speed wins
- Solid camera fundamentals: exposure, movement, composition, natural light mastery (Goa gives you the best light in India, use it)
- On-location shoot experience: travel shoots, influencer trips, or outdoor productions where plans change hourly
- Drone skills or licence a big plus
- Based in Goa or ready to relocate (we're serious, this is not remote)
- A passport ready to travel and stamina for shoot days that start before sunrise
