JOB DESCRIPTION

Project Coordinator – Fabrication & Ducting Projects

Department

Projects / Operations

Reporting To

General Manager – Operations / Project Head

Location

Bengaluru, Karnataka

Experience

2-5 Years

Candidates must have experience in:

Heavy fabrication projects
Boiler ducting and flue gas duct fabrication
ESP ducting
Power plant equipment
BHEL/NTPC/TSGENCO/GSECL or similar EPC projects
Structural steel fabrication
Manufacturing and site coordination

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience may also apply.

Job Summary

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and controlling fabrication projects from receipt of Purchase Order through engineering, procurement, production, inspection, dispatch, site support, and final project closure. The role requires close coordination with customers, consultants, vendors, production, quality, logistics, and site teams to ensure timely execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning

Study Purchase Orders, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
Prepare project execution plans and schedules.
Monitor milestones and ensure adherence to contractual delivery dates.

Engineering Coordination

Coordinate with the design team for fabrication drawings.
Ensure timely approval of GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and revisions.
Monitor engineering document submission status.

Production Coordination

Coordinate with PPC for production planning.
Monitor plate availability, cutting, bending, rolling, welding, assembly, blasting, painting, and dispatch.
Ensure fabrication activities are completed as per approved drawings and quality requirements.

Procurement Coordination

Follow up for procurement of steel plates, structural materials, welding consumables, paints, fasteners, and bought-out items.
Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.

Quality Coordination

Coordinate inspections with customer representatives, BHEL inspectors, TPI agencies, and consultants.
Ensure all inspection reports, material test certificates, and quality documents are maintained.

Customer Coordination

Act as the single point of contact for customers.
Provide periodic project progress reports.
Coordinate technical clarifications and document submissions.
Attend customer review meetings.

Dispatch & Logistics

Plan dispatch according to project priorities.
Coordinate transportation and packing.
Ensure dispatch documentation is complete.

Site Coordination

Coordinate erection support whenever required.
Monitor site requirements and customer feedback.
Resolve project-related issues in coordination with engineering and production teams.

Documentation

Maintain project files and document control.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
Track pending actions until closure.

Commercial Coordination

Monitor billing milestones.
Coordinate submission of invoices and supporting documents.
Follow up on payment milestones as per contract.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of heavy fabrication and duct manufacturing.
Ability to read fabrication drawings and engineering documents.
Excellent project planning and coordination skills.
Strong communication and customer-handling abilities.
Good negotiation and follow-up skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
CNC/Profile Cutting
Plate Rolling
Press Brake Forming
Welding
Assembly
Blasting
Painting
Packing & Dispatch

Software Knowledge

Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

Salary

₹ 3-4 Lakhs per annum, based on experience and competency.

Preferred Candidate

Strong leadership and coordination skills.
Excellent planning and follow-up capability.
Experience handling multiple fabrication projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to customer and project sites when required.
Immediate joiners or candidates with a notice period of up to 30 days will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
