Job Summary:
Regional Project Manager - Global Marine & Navy
Johnson Controls helps create smart, healthy, and sustainable environments around the world. In our Global Marine & Navy business line, you will help deliver technically complex projects that support customer performance, safety, and long-term value.
Role Overview
As Regional Project Manager, you will lead multiple projects across the Marine & Navy segment, ensuring disciplined execution from contract review through delivery and handover. This role is focused on ownership, coordination, and strong project control across operational, commercial, and customer-facing activities.
What will you do?
- Lead the execution of multiple projects within the Global Marine & Navy business line, ensuring clear scope, delivery, and handover.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, risks, and deviations to keep work on track.
- Oversee operational and financial performance for assigned projects, including follow-up on budget and progress.
- Coordinate closely with sales, design, and Supply chain to align deliverables with customer expectations and contractual requirements.
- Support projects involving HVAC, refrigeration, controls, and provision plant scope where applicable.
- Support Projects on Fire suppression and Halo hanger firefighting systems
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with Johnson Controls, legal, and contractual standards.
- Maintain the monthly outlook plan for the financial year and update plan on monthly basis as per revenue planned
- Drive a professional handover process and ensure customers receive a complete and well-executed solution.
- Visit Shipyards, Indian Navy and other customers to review ongoing projects & maintain customer focus. In addition meet relevant teams in Shipyard to gather information on future projects and requirements /Specs.
- Manage the AR, Unbilled and TWC
- Focus on employees EHS and KPI
How You Will Do It
- Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by following through from contract review to final handover.
- Stay close to the work and remove obstacles by aligning quickly with customers, sales, technical specialists, and Supply chain colleagues.
- Improve every day through candid problem-solving by tracking deviations early, addressing root causes, and keeping project execution transparent.
- Win as one team by building trust, sharing information openly, and using diverse perspectives to support the best project decisions.
- Use a structured project management approach to balance scope, schedule, quality, and financial control across several concurrent projects.
- Mechanical Engineering /Marine Engineering or Electrical/ Electronic engineering graduate/ Masters from reputable college/University
- Minimum of 15-20 years’ experience in Marine/ Navy projects
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience handling technically complex projects with customer, commercial, and operational coordination.
- Strong ability to manage schedules, risks, handover activities, and financial follow-up.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Indian Navy/CG background with Cdr/Capt equivalent with 20 Plus years of service
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, controls, or provision plant projects.
- Background in contract-based project delivery within marine, offshore, or navy environments.
- Experience working in an international project setting.
