Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Accounting & AI Automation Executive who combines strong practical accounting knowledge with advanced expertise in Artificial Intelligence, workflow automation, AI Agents and accounting technology.
This is not a conventional accounting position. The successful candidate will be expected to understand accounting processes from the grassroots transactional level through financial and management reporting, identify activities that can be automated, standardized or AI-enabled, and design practical solutions that materially improve productivity, accuracy, turnaround time and client service.
A major responsibility of this position will be to work with Management in developing the firm's AI-Based Accounting Business, including creating AI agents, automated accounting workflows and technology-enabled services that can ultimately be deployed across multiple Canadian clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Process Expertise
- Understand and document complete accounting workflows, including AP, AR, banking, reconciliations, general ledger, payroll, month-end closing, financial reporting and management reporting.
- Work comfortably from detailed transactional accounting through Controller/CFO-level reporting requirements.
- Review existing client accounting processes and identify manual, repetitive, inefficient and error-prone activities.
- Develop standardized accounting processes and controls suitable for automation.
- Understand accounting platforms including QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, Sage and other client accounting systems.
- Work effectively with multiple Canadian client files and accounting/audit firms.
AI & Accounting Automation
- Identify accounting activities that can appropriately be automated using AI, APIs, workflow automation, RPA and related technologies.
- Design and build AI Agents for accounting and finance functions.
- Develop agentic workflows capable of assisting with tasks such as document processing, transaction analysis, reconciliations, exception identification, reporting, management information and accounting workflow coordination.
- Integrate AI solutions with accounting software, spreadsheets, databases and other business applications where technically appropriate.
- Build appropriate human review, approval, security and quality-control mechanisms into automated accounting processes.
- Measure automation results in terms of hours saved, turnaround time, accuracy, cost reduction and client-service improvement.
Build Our AI-Based Accounting Business
The successful candidate will have an important entrepreneurial responsibility: helping Management build a scalable AI-enabled accounting service capability for the firm.
This will include:
- Identifying high-value accounting processes suitable for AI transformation.
- Developing reusable AI agents and automation frameworks rather than isolated one-time solutions.
- Creating proof-of-concept solutions and converting successful pilots into deployable client services.
- Helping develop an AI-enabled accounting operating model that can be replicated across multiple Canadian clients.
- Supporting development of new AI-based service offerings for bookkeeping, accounting, controllership, management reporting and CFO advisory.
- Continuously evaluating emerging AI technologies and determining their practical application within accounting.
- Training accounting team members to work effectively with AI-enabled processes.
- Working directly with senior Management on the firm's AI Accounting Transformation Roadmap.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should possess a strong combination of Accounting + Technology + AI + Business Process capabilities.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- CA / CA Semi-Qualified / CMA / ACCA or other strong professional accounting background, together with significant practical accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Experience working with accounting or audit firms and managing multiple client files.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, Sage and advanced Excel.
- Experience with Power BI, dashboards, MIS and management reporting.
- Demonstrable experience developing AI Agents, agentic workflows and business-process automation.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, workflow automation platforms, databases and modern AI tools.
- Ability to convert an accounting/business requirement into a practical technology solution.
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting, taxation and business practices would be a significant advantage.

During the interview, candidates should be prepared to demonstrate or explain:
- An accounting process they have successfully automated.
- An AI Agent or agentic workflow they have personally designed or built.
- How they identify whether an accounting process should or should not be automated.
- How they ensure accounting accuracy and human oversight within AI workflows.
- How they would approach automating a Canadian client's accounting operation.
- Their ideas for developing a scalable AI-Based Accounting Service Business for our firm.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial, technically strong, hands-on and results-oriented professional. The individual must be willing to work at both the grassroots implementation level and strategic level rather than functioning only as a manager.
Management has high expectations for this position. The successful candidate should have the confidence and capability to take ownership of projects, experiment intelligently, solve problems independently, deliver measurable results and progressively build a team and service capability around AI-enabled accounting.

The firm is prepared to offer a highly competitive compensation package for exceptional talent who can demonstrate the combination of accounting expertise, AI capability and measurable business results required for this position.
The package may also include a performance-linked incentive component, directly connected to successful automation projects, productivity improvements, client-service enhancement and development of the firm's AI-based accounting business.

Pay: ₹566,962.42 - ₹1,988,599.22 per year
