Job Description — BIM Architect / Architectural Product Specialist
Company: Klypto Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Role: BIM Architect / Architectural Product Specialist
Experience: 1–3 Years
Preferred Experience Band: 1–2 Years with strong BIM/Revit exposure
Department: BIM Product / Architecture
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
We are looking for an Architect with practical knowledge of BIM-based architectural workflows who can work closely with our product, development, testing, and client-facing teams on our BIM software platform.
This is not a conventional architectural design-only position.
The role is intended for an architect who understands how architects actually work inside applications such as Autodesk Revit or comparable BIM/design platforms and can translate that knowledge into practical guidance for software workflows, feature behaviour, usability, testing, and client requirements.
The selected candidate will act as an architectural domain specialist for the product, helping ensure that architectural tools within the software behave logically, follow industry-relevant workflows, and are practical for architects and BIM users.
Key Responsibilities
1. BIM Software Testing & Architectural Validation
- Regularly test architectural functionality within the BIM software from an architect's perspective.
- Validate whether architectural tools behave logically and support practical project workflows.
- Test complete workflows rather than individual buttons or isolated features.
- Identify missing functionality, workflow gaps, usability issues, incorrect behaviour, and architectural inconsistencies.
- Test features such as:
- WallsDoors and windowsFloors/slabsRoofsStairsRailingsRooms and areasLevelsGridsColumnsCeilingsOpeningsArchitectural componentsMaterialsFamilies/types/componentsDimensions and annotationsPlans, sections, elevations and 3D viewsSchedules and quantitiesModify/editing toolsSnapping, alignment and constraintsArchitectural properties and parameters2. Architectural Workflow Guidance
- Define how architectural features should ideally be created, edited, modified, selected, visualised and managed inside the application.
- Study established BIM workflows from tools such as Revit and other BIM/CAD applications, while helping the team adapt suitable concepts to our own product rather than simply copying another application.
- Help define logical command workflows, including:
- Tool activationPlacementSketchingSelectionModificationProperty editingType/instance behaviourConstraintsSnappingVisibility2D/3D coordinationError handling
- Guide development teams regarding how architects expect a feature to behave during real projects.3. Product & Development Support
- Work closely with developers and product teams to explain architectural requirements in a technically understandable manner. The architect will be expected to: Convert architectural requirements into clear software behaviour. Review proposed workflows before development. Review implemented features after development.
Explain architectural relationships between different BIM objects. Help establish acceptance criteria for architectural features. Provide references, sample workflows and practical project scenarios. Identify cases where software behaviour may technically work but would still be impractical for an architect. Programming experience is not required, but the candidate should be comfortable communicating requirements to software developers.4. Architectural Feature Research how architectural and BIM applications solve specific workflow problems. Examples may include: Wall joins Hosted doors/windows Stair creation Roof modelling Room boundary calculation Component placement Levels and constraints Parametric properties View controls Sections/elevations Annotation Design modification workflows BIM object relationships. The objective is to understand the architectural logic behind these workflows and recommend appropriate implementation for our software.5. Client Coordination & Domain Support Act as an architectural domain representative during relevant client interactions.
Responsibilities may include:
- Understanding architectural requirements from clients.
- Demonstrating architectural workflows within the software.
- Helping clients understand available BIM functionality.
- Recording feature requirements and workflow concerns.
- Translating client feedback into structured product requirements.
- Supporting product demonstrations where architectural expertise is required.
- Discussing project-specific architectural use cases with clients.
- Helping distinguish between:
- Product issuesWorkflow misunderstandingsMissing functionalityClient-specific requirements6. Architectural QA / User Acceptance Testing
- Participate in structured User Acceptance Testing for architectural releases.
- The candidate should be able to verify:Whether the feature works.
- Whether the workflow makes architectural sense.
- Whether it can reasonably be used on a real project.
- Whether associated modify/edit commands work correctly.
- Whether properties update correctly.
- Whether related 2D and 3D representations remain consistent.
- Whether the workflow is understandable to a new user.
- Whether edge cases create incorrect BIM conditions.
- Report issues with clear:Reproduction steps
