Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Brand Designer who is passionate about building brands and has a strong understanding of design, visual communication, and brand identity.

The ideal candidate should be able to take a branding assignment from concept to execution—understanding the client's business and objectives, developing creative concepts, creating compelling visual identities, and ensuring consistency across all brand touchpoints.

This role is ideal for a designer who goes beyond simply creating attractive designs and understands why a brand should look and communicate in a particular way.

You will work closely with the Creative, Strategy, Content, Social Media, and Account Management teams to create strong and differentiated brand experiences for clients.

Key Responsibilities1. Brand Identity & Brand Building

Develop complete and distinctive brand identities for new and existing brands.
Work on high-level branding assignments including:
Logo & visual identity
Brand colour systems
Typography systems
Brand visual language
Brand assets and design elements
Brand guidelines
Corporate identity
Packaging and marketing collaterals
Digital brand experiences
Translate brand strategy, positioning and personality into a strong visual identity.
Create scalable design systems that can be consistently applied across different platforms and touchpoints.
Work on rebranding and brand refresh projects.
Ensure every design decision is aligned with the brand's positioning and business objectives.

2. Creative Concept Development

Develop strong creative concepts and visual directions rather than simply executing briefs.
Generate multiple creative routes and explore different visual territories.
Present design rationale and explain the thinking behind creative decisions.
Convert abstract ideas, business objectives and brand strategies into compelling visual concepts.
Stay updated with evolving design trends while ensuring the work remains strategic, relevant and timeless.

3. End-to-End Project Ownership

Take ownership of branding projects from briefing to final delivery.
Understand client requirements and translate them into actionable creative briefs.
Plan design deliverables, timelines and priorities.
Ensure projects are delivered on time without compromising creative quality.
Manage multiple branding assignments simultaneously.
Take responsibility for the overall quality of work delivered to clients.

4. Collaboration & Team Leadership

Work closely with Creative Directors, Brand Strategists, Copywriters, Content Teams, Social Media Teams and Account Managers.
Collaborate with junior designers and guide them on design execution.
Review and provide constructive feedback on design work.
Help establish and maintain high design standards within the team.
Mentor junior and mid-level designers and help improve their creative capabilities.

5. Client Presentation & Communication

Participate in client presentations and creative discussions.
Confidently explain creative concepts, design rationale and visual decisions.
Understand client feedback and translate it into meaningful design improvements.
Be able to defend strong creative decisions while remaining open to constructive feedback.
Build confidence and trust with clients through professional communication and quality of work.

6. Design Quality & Brand Consistency

Maintain a high standard of visual quality across all deliverables.
Ensure brand consistency across print, digital, social media, websites, presentations, packaging and other communication channels.
Conduct quality checks before final delivery.
Ensure design systems and brand guidelines are followed across all executions.
Continuously improve the quality and sophistication of the agency's creative output.

Required Skills

Strong understanding of Brand Identity and Visual Communication.
Excellent knowledge of typography, colour theory, composition, layout and visual hierarchy.
Strong conceptual and creative thinking.
Ability to develop a visual identity from scratch.
Strong understanding of design systems and brand guidelines.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to understand business objectives and convert them into creative solutions.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and take ownership.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Software Skills

Strong proficiency in relevant design tools such as:

Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign
Figma
After Effects / Motion Design tools – an added advantage
AI-powered design and creative tools – an added advantage

Candidates will be evaluated primarily on the quality of their portfolio, creative thinking and ability to build brands, rather than simply years of experience.
