Full job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic General Manager to oversee the operations of our Beer and Wine Parlor. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of daily operations, staff, customer satisfaction, inventory control, and compliance with relevant regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about craft beers, fine wines, and providing an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations of the Beer and Wine Parlor, ensuring smooth service and high-quality customer experiences.
Maintain a welcoming and organized environment for guests, including cleanliness and ambiance.
Manage the opening and closing procedures, as well as cash handling and reconciliations.
Staff Management & Development:
Hire, train, and supervise bar and service staff to ensure high standards of service, product knowledge, and hospitality.
Develop and schedule staff shifts, ensuring appropriate coverage.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and foster a positive work culture.
Inventory and Ordering:
Manage inventory levels of beer, wine, spirits, and other products, ensuring availability without excess waste.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and quality products.
Track sales trends and adjust orders accordingly to meet customer demand.
Customer Service:
Ensure excellent guest service, addressing customer complaints, inquiries, and special requests.
Foster a friendly, respectful, and inviting environment for all patrons.
Organize events, tastings, and promotions to attract and retain customers.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all operations comply with local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, health and safety, and labor laws.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bar area, kitchen, and other facilities.
Train staff on responsible alcohol service and safety protocols.
Financial Management:
Monitor and manage the parlor’s financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
Review and analyze sales reports, profit margins, and expenses.
Implement strategies to improve sales and minimize costs.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (3+ years) as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of craft beers, wines, and bar management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
Familiarity with alcohol service regulations and compliance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in managing or working in a craft beer and wine-focused establishment.
Knowledge of POS systems and bar inventory software.
Certification in Responsible Beverage Service or similar.
