Why this role exists

We manufacture health supplements and nutraceuticals under an FSSAI Central Licence with a product annexure running into several hundred approved formulations — tablets, capsules, syrups, suspensions, powders, granules and effervescent tablets — across a growing set of brands sold in India and increasingly overseas and on e-commerce marketplaces.

At that product density, compliance is not a filing job. Every new formulation needs annexure addition, every label needs to survive FSSAI, Legal Metrology and marketplace scrutiny, every batch needs to sit inside a defensible GMP system, and no licence anywhere in the group can be allowed to lapse. We are looking for one person to own that entire surface end-to-end — plant, product, paperwork and regulator.

About us

Om Sai Healthcare operates a manufacturing facility at Mubarikpur, Sector 4, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, holding an FSSAI Central Licence as a manufacturer of Food or Health Supplements and Nutraceuticals. We manufacture for our own brands and on a contract basis for others, across tablets, capsules, syrups, suspensions, powders, granules and effervescent formats, and supply through distribution, modern trade, e-commerce marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms. The role also covers the compliance requirements of our group companies, affiliates and associate entities in India and overseas.

What success looks like in twelve months

Every licence and registration across the group is current, mapped and calendared with no surprise renewals. The Mohali unit clears FSSAI, marketplace and third-party audits without material observations. New product launches move from formulation to compliant, print-ready label and annexure approval on a predictable timeline rather than as a fire drill. Management gets a single, trustworthy compliance dashboard instead of chasing status.

What you'll own

Plant & manufacturing compliance

Full ownership of the FSSAI Central Licence on FoSCoS — renewals, modifications, product annexure additions and deletions, change of premises or details, and annual returns (Form D-1) by the statutory due date. Compliance with Schedule 4 (Part V) sanitary and hygiene requirements, GMP and cGMP practices, and the licence conditions: technical supervision of production, daily production / raw material / sales records, six-monthly product testing through NABL-accredited or FSSAI-notified labs, clean-in-place systems, and licensed-vendor-only sourcing. Batch documentation, in-process and finished-goods release controls, retention samples, shelf-life and stability data, traceability and mock recall procedures. Water testing, pest control, sanitation schedules, personnel hygiene and medical fitness records, and FoSTaC-certified food safety supervisor coverage.

Licences, registrations and approvals

Obtain, renew, amend and maintain all statutory licences and registrations for the group: FSSAI (central and state), AYUSH / Ayurvedic manufacturing licence under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Schedule T GMP where applicable, Legal Metrology (LMPC) registration, Factory Licence, Pollution Control Board CTE/CTO, Fire NOC, Trade Licence, Shops & Establishments, GST, IEC, Udyam/MSME and any sectoral permission a new product, vertical or location demands. Identify what a new business activity will require before it starts, and run renewals far enough ahead that nothing ever lapses.

Product, label and claim compliance

Vet every label, carton, insert and pack against the Food Safety and Standards (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use…) Regulations, 2022 — permitted ingredients, Schedule limits, RDA declarations and mandatory warnings — plus Labelling & Display Regulations, 2020 and Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules. Clear marketing claims, advertisements and digital content under the FSS (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018 and ASCI norms, and sign off artwork with the design team before it goes to print.

Audits and certifications

Run internal compliance audits; prepare and represent the unit for FSSAI inspections, state food safety officers, statutory and tax audits, marketplace audits and customer / third-party audits. Drive ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal, Kosher and similar certifications — documentation, gap closure, corrective and preventive action, and surveillance audits.

E-commerce, marketplace and export compliance

Seller and brand onboarding, documentation and ongoing account-health compliance on marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms; handle listing takedowns, policy notices, appeals and audits. Support exports: registrations and notifications in destination markets (for example US FDA facility registration, UK/EU food supplement notification and labelling), COA, health certificates, certificates of origin, and coordination with overseas consultants and responsible persons.

Vendor due diligence, systems and reporting

Compliance-side onboarding and KYC of vendors, contract manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and service providers, including verification of their licences and agreements. Maintain entity-wise compliance calendars, trackers, statutory registers and document repositories; report status, risks and upcoming deadlines to management at agreed intervals. Write and roll out SOPs, checklists and policies, and train production, QA, marketing and e-commerce teams on what applies to them.

Liaison and representation

Represent the company before FSSAI, AYUSH, Legal Metrology, Pollution Control Board, Factories Inspectorate and local authorities for applications, hearings, inspections and clarifications. Draft responses to show-cause notices, improvement notices and departmental queries, in consultation with management and professional advisors.

What we're looking for

Required

8 – 14 years in food safety, quality assurance or regulatory compliance, with substantial time in nutraceutical, health supplement, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing (plant-side, not purely corporate). A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food & Nutrition, Pharmacy or an equivalent science discipline from a recognised university — this is a licence condition for the technical person supervising production, not a preference. Hands-on FoSCoS experience: new licence, renewal, modification and product annexure work. You should have personally filed, not only supervised. Working command of the FSS Act, 2006 and its regulations — Schedule 4, Nutraceutical Regulations 2022, Labelling & Display Regulations 2020, Advertising & Claims Regulations 2018 — and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules. Experience facing FSSAI or state food safety inspections and third-party audits, and closing observations through documented CAPA. GMP / cGMP and HACCP documentation experience; exposure to ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 systems. Ability to read a formulation and tell us what it can and cannot legally claim on the pack.

Preferred

AYUSH / Ayurvedic manufacturing licence experience, including Schedule T GMP. Export regulatory experience — US FDA, UK/EU, Middle East or Africa registrations and labelling. E-commerce and marketplace compliance exposure (Amazon, Flipkart, quick-commerce platforms). FoSTaC Advanced (Manufacturing) certification and/or Lead Auditor certification in ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 / HACCP. Comfort working across multiple legal entities and brands simultaneously. Working proficiency in Hindi and English; Punjabi an advantage for local liaison.

Compensation

Rs. 8,00,000 – Rs. 14,00,000 CTC per annum, based on experience and demonstrated capability. The role reports directly to the management and carries genuine ownership — you will be the single point of accountability for compliance across the group, not one voice in a committee.
