Role Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on Shopify Developer with 4+ years of experience in both Shopify storefront development and custom app development. The role will focus on maintaining and enhancing our live Shopify ecosystem, including theme customization, UI improvements, production support, backend integrations, webhook handling, and custom Shopify app development.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across the complete Shopify stack — from Liquid and frontend development to APIs, webhooks, Remix-based apps, and backend integrations. This role requires someone who can work in a fast-paced production environment and collaborate closely with architects, QA, and business teams to deliver stable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Shopify Storefront Development:

Develop and maintain Shopify themes, templates, sections, snippets, and Liquid code.
Implement responsive UI enhancements using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Shopify best practices.
Support merchandising updates, landing pages, promotional campaigns, and conversion-focused improvements.
Optimize storefront performance and user experience across devices and browsers.
Troubleshoot and resolve storefront-related production issues.
Shopify Custom App Development
Develop and maintain custom Shopify applications using Remix and Shopify app frameworks.
Build and support integrations using Shopify Admin APIs, GraphQL APIs, REST APIs, and Webhooks.
Implement backend workflows for order, customer, catalog, pricing, and inventory operations.
Support event-driven webhook processing and integration reliability.
Work with authentication, session management, and Shopify app deployment processes.

Backend & Integration Support:

Work with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
Develop and maintain APIs, middleware services, and backend integrations.
Troubleshoot integration and data synchronization issues across Shopify and third-party systems such as ERP, OMS, WMS, payment gateways, and fulfillment platforms.
Analyze logs, webhook failures, and API issues to ensure platform stability.

Production Support & Enhancements:

Investigate and resolve production bugs, defects, and live site issues in a timely manner.
Support sprint-based development and release cycles.
Work closely with QA and business stakeholders for validation and deployment activities.
Ensure high reliability, maintainability, and code quality standards.

Performance & Quality:

Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
Optimize frontend performance and support Core Web Vitals improvements.
Follow coding standards, Git workflows, deployment processes, and documentation practices.
Contribute to technical improvements and development best practices.

AI-Assisted Development:

Use AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and ChatGPT to improve coding efficiency, debugging, testing, documentation, and productivity.
Apply AI-assisted development practices as part of day-to-day engineering workflows.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
4+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
Experience supporting QA/UAT validation cycles.
Exposure to automation and AI-assisted development workflows.
