Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented IT & Network Administrator / AWS Cloud Architect to manage our AWS cloud environment, corporate IT infrastructure, networking systems, hardware procurement, and technical support operations.The successful candidate will work closely with our internal teams, US-based colleagues, clients, vendors, and service providers. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in AWS, system administration, networking, security, troubleshooting, procurement, and client communication. Experience 5+ years of experience.Key Responsibilities1. AWS Cloud Administration and Architecture
- Design, deploy, administer, monitor, and optimize secure and highly available AWS environments.
- Maintain AWS infrastructure supporting applications, websites, APIs, databases, backups, and business operations.
- Plan and execute application, server, workload, and database migrations to AWS.
- Configure and manage services such as:
- Amazon EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront and Elastic Load Balancing
- IAM, AWS Organizations, Security Groups, Network ACLs and AWS KMS
- CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config and Systems Manager
- AWS Backup, Auto Scaling, Lambda and relevant container services
- Design VPCs, public and private subnets, routing tables, NAT gateways, internet gateways, VPC peering and site-to-site VPN connections.
- Manage cloud databases, backup schedules, snapshots, restoration procedures, high availability and disaster recovery.
- Apply AWS security best practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, logging, patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor availability, performance, security and cloud expenditure.
- Implement cost-control measures, resource tagging and capacity planning.
- Maintain infrastructure diagrams, configurations, access records and operating procedures.
- Respond to AWS incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
2. System Administration and IT Infrastructure
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, workstations, servers, printers, scanners and related peripherals.
- Administer Windows and/or Linux operating systems, including user accounts, permissions, updates, patching and system security.
- Maintain office IT infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, cabling, racks and power-backup equipment.
- Manage identity and access services such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Support Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, email, collaboration tools, file sharing and endpoint security.
- Manage antivirus/EDR, device encryption, asset inventory, software licensing, backup and recovery.
- Provide onboarding and offboarding support, including account creation, device setup and access removal.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate IT asset and configuration records.
3. Network Administration
- Design, configure, monitor and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN and VLAN environments.
- Configure and maintain routers, managed switches, wireless controllers, access points and firewalls.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of:
- TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, routing and switching
- DNS, DHCP, NAT/PAT, ARP, ICMP and SNMP
- VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, STP/RSTP and link aggregation
- Static routing and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Site-to-site VPN, remote-access VPN, IPsec and SSL/TLS
- Firewall rules, access-control lists, network segmentation and zero-trust principles
- Wi-Fi standards, SSIDs, WPA2/WPA3 and wireless troubleshooting
- Bandwidth management, Quality of Service and internet-link redundancy
- Monitor network availability, latency, packet loss, bandwidth and device health.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless and performance issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Coordinate with internet service providers and other vendors to resolve outages and service problems.
- Maintain network diagrams, IP-address records, device configurations and backup copies.
4. IT Procurement and Vendor Management
- Assess business and technical requirements for computers, networking equipment, servers, peripherals, software and cloud services.
- Prepare specifications, cost estimates, comparative quotations and detailed procurement budgets.
- Recommend suitable products based on compatibility, performance, security, scalability, warranty and total cost of ownership.
- Present budgets and recommendations to management and obtain approval before purchasing.
- Source products from approved vendors and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, warranties and support terms.
- Procure approved hardware, software, licenses and services in accordance with company policies.
- Verify delivered products, coordinate installation and maintain purchase, warranty and asset records.
- Manage vendor relationships, renewals, support contracts and replacement planning.
5. Communication, Client Support and Documentation
- Communicate directly with the US team and clients to understand their infrastructure, networking, system-setup and support requirements.
- Provide professional remote support for computers, applications, networks, VPNs, cloud services and user-access issues.
- Participate in meetings across applicable US time zones when required.
- Explain technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Record incidents, requests, actions and resolutions through a ticketing or service-management system.
- Coordinate installations, migrations, maintenance windows and incident responses with clients and internal teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, knowledge-base articles and client handover documents.
- Provide timely status updates and follow issues through to successful resolution.
- Handle client systems, credentials and business information with strict confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, system administration and AWS cloud operations.
- Hands-on experience managing production AWS environments and on-premises IT infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate directly with US-based teams and clients.
- Willingness to provide support during agreed US business hours, maintenance windows or critical incidents when necessary.
Mandatory CertificationsCandidates must hold:
- At least one current AWS certification, preferably:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or a comparable networking certification, such as:
- CompTIA Network+
- Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos)
- Aruba Certified Network Technician/Associate
- Fortinet networking or security certification
