Job Title: Assistant/Deputy Manager

Location: Pune

Experience: 5 – 8 yrs

Educational Qualification: 5–8 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, quality control, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems and leading audits.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, quality management, or a related field. Professional certification in quality (such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, and/or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.

Role Description

Responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in administering the organization’s quality program. This role involves supervising quality teams, coordinating quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and acting as a liaison between quality and other departments. The Assistant/Deputy Manager also plays a key role in training, coaching, and developing junior quality staff, and may deputize for the Quality Manager as needed.

Key Result Areas:

Quality Program Administration:
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS) within assigned areas.

Team Supervision:
Lead and mentor quality professionals and technicians, ensuring effective execution of quality processes and procedures.

Audit Management:

Plan, coordinate, and participate in internal and external audits; ensure timely closure of audit findings.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Analyze quality data, identify trends, and prepare reports for management; recommend and implement corrective actions.

Process Excellence:

Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects, utilizing quality tools and methodologies to drive process optimization internally.

Business Excellence:

Lead and contribute in client facing assignments in role of Quality consultant.

Support Quality digitalization initiatives in using AI as an enabler to improve effectiveness of QMS.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and maintain accurate quality documentation and records.

Customer Quality:

Support quality management and address customer quality issues, including complaint resolution and root cause analysis.

Training & Development:

Conduct or coordinate training sessions for quality staff and promote quality awareness across the organization.

Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience

Hard Skills:

In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean).

Proficiency in quality tools such as root cause analysis, FMEA, control plans, and statistical process control.

Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including the use of spreadsheets and quality management software.

Experience with audit planning, execution, and follow-up.

Exposure to Information Security and Data Privacy would be an added advantage.
