Job Description
Operational Oversight Supervise daily processing of supplier invoices and employee reimbursements. Ensure proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policy. Monitor accounts payable ledger for accuracy and completeness. Manage end-to-end AP cycle: invoice receipt validation approval payment reconciliation. 2. Team Coordination & Support Allocate and track work of junior AP team members. Act as first point of contact for team queries and escalations. Assist in training new team members on systems and procedures. Motivate the team to meet performance and accuracy targets. 3. Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements. Support in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits. Assist with implementation and monitoring of fraud-prevention procedures. 4. Vendor Management Resolve vendor queries and payment discrepancies professionally and timely. Maintain good working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders (e.g., procurement, treasury). 5. Reporting & Analysis Generate AP reports: aging reports, due payments, and exception reports. Support monthly/quarterly closing activities with finance. Analyze payment trends and propose improvements. 6. Process Improvement Identify gaps or inefficiencies in AP processes. Recommend and help implement process automation or best practices. Participate in AP system upgrades or ERP implementations as needed. 7. Learning & Development (Trainee Focus) Actively participate in management training sessions and cross-functional projects. Shadow senior finance leaders and develop understanding of financial operations. Demonstrate growth potential through initiative and leadership capabilities. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP process. Attention to detail with high accuracy standards. Leadership and people management potential. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Excel and data analysis proficiency. Time management and multitasking.
