AutoCAD & SolidWorks Engineer

Mechanical / Electrical · Industrial & Electromechanical Drawings

● Company: Precision Spares Mfg. Co. (PSMC)

● Location: Kolkata · Next to Joka Metro Station (On-site only)

● Employment: Full-time

● Working Days: Monday to Saturday

● Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

● Experience: Minimum 2-5 years hands-on industry experience (Mandatory)

● Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month (Negotiable — strictly based on hands-on skill,

industry exposure, and technical competence)

About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on AutoCAD & SolidWorks Engineer with proven, real-world experience in industrial mechanical and electrical drawings. This role goes beyond executing standard software commands. The selected professional must be able to independently measure physical components, think like an engineer, and reliably deliver production-ready drawings on time, from day one. This is a strictly on-site position.

Core Responsibilities:

● Independently prepare accurate 2D & 3D drawings using both AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

● Create General Arrangement (G.A.) drawings, part drawings, assembly drawings,

sectional views, cross-sections, elevations, and projections.

● Build SolidWorks part and assembly models independently and generate drawings

directly from 3D models.

● Physically measure electromechanical and industrial spares including motor components

(DE & NDE shields), shafts, pulleys, couplings, gears, electrical insulators, and other

mechanical spare parts.

● Use precision instruments — Vernier Calipers, Micrometers — to convert physical

measurements and hand sketches into fully dimensioned engineering drawings.

● Ensure compliance with tolerances, fits, scales (mm), and industrial manufacturing

standards.

● Deliver drawings accurately and within agreed timelines, as punctual submission is a core

expectation.

● Revise drawings based on client feedback, site observations, and engineering changes.

Mandatory Skills

● Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D & 3D).

● Ability to independently create part and assembly models in SolidWorks.

● Experience generating engineering drawings directly from 3D models.

● Proven hands-on experience taking accurate physical measurements of real industrial

components.

● Clear understanding of dimensions, tolerances & fits, sectional views & projections,

scales/units (mm), and industrial drawing standards.

● Minimum 2 years of hands-on, relevant industry experience — no exceptions.

● Ability to work fully independently without supervision or in-role training.

● Strict punctuality regarding daily arrival and meeting all drawing submission deadlines.

● Professional demeanor and formal office attire required.

Preferred Qualifications

● ITI / Diploma / BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

● Prior experience in fabrication or manufacturing drawings.

● Background in steel plants, power sector, or heavy industries preferred.

Confidence in operating Vernier Calipers or Micrometers is essential. We maintain a professional, productive pace, requiring team members to work efficiently on routine drawings, arrive on time, and meet deadlines reliably. Please note that smoking or the use of tobacco / recreational drugs in any form is not permitted and remote, hybrid or part-time arrangements are not available.

Important Interview Requirement:

A short on-site drafting test will be conducted to assess SolidWorks competency and physical measurement skills. Please bring a personal laptop with AutoCAD installed to your interview so you can actively draw and share your work during the practical test portion. We appreciate candidates who fully prepare by reading this post in its entirety, as questions during the interview about information clearly stated here will be considered a lack of preparation.
