Position: Area Sales Manager (ASM)
Department: Sales & Business Development
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Assigned Territory

1. Job Purpose

To achieve the assigned sales and distribution targets of Atom Wellness by developing the assigned territory, managing distributors and key customers, leading the field sales team, increasing product penetration and identifying new business opportunities.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Sales & Target Achievement

Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
Prepare territory-wise sales plans and ensure effective execution.
Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance.
Identify gaps between target and achievement and take corrective action.
Increase primary and secondary sales through effective market development.

B. Team Management

Lead, guide and monitor Sales Executives/Medical Representatives in the assigned territory.
Prepare daily call plans, route plans and weekly work schedules.
Monitor field visits, customer coverage, new business visits and follow-up activities.
Conduct regular field accompaniment and performance reviews.
Train the team on product knowledge, selling skills and company schemes.
Motivate the team to achieve individual and territory targets.
Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans.

C. Distributor Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors.
Ensure adequate stock availability across the assigned territory.
Monitor distributor sales, stock, outstanding payments and order pipeline.
Conduct regular distributor visits.
Ensure pending orders are followed up and supplied on time.
Identify opportunities for new distributor appointments.
Expand distribution into uncovered areas.

D. Retail & Customer Development

Develop relationships with retailers, pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare customers.
Identify and acquire new customers.
Increase product range and product visibility at retail outlets.
Drive secondary sales and repeat orders.
Follow up on customer requirements, complaints and service issues.
Develop key accounts and high-potential customers.

E. Hospital & Institutional Business

Identify business opportunities in hospitals, clinics and healthcare institutions.
Develop relationships with doctors, purchase managers, administrators and other decision-makers.
Promote relevant Atom Wellness products through product presentations and demonstrations.
Explore institutional, corporate and government business opportunities where applicable.
Track quotations, enquiries, tenders and pending institutional orders.

F. Market Development

Identify new territories, markets and customer segments.
Develop business opportunities in untapped areas.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, schemes and market activities.
Collect market intelligence and provide regular feedback to management.
Support new product launches and promotional campaigns.
Implement company marketing schemes effectively in the field.

G. Collections & Financial Discipline

Monitor outstanding payments of distributors and customers.
Coordinate with distributors and accounts teams for timely collection.
Ensure sales are generated within approved commercial terms.
Avoid unnecessary credit exposure and report payment risks immediately.

H. Reporting & MIS

Submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
Prepare target vs. achievement reports.
Submit territory-wise and product-wise sales analysis.
Monitor team visit reports and customer conversion data.
Provide accurate sales forecasts.
Report competitor activities, market opportunities and customer feedback.
Ensure all field activities are properly updated in the company's CRM/Atom Connect system.

5. Qualification & Experience

Qualification: Graduate in any discipline;

Experience: Preferably 3–7 years of experience in pharma, medical devices, healthcare, surgical, orthopaedic or FMCG sales, with prior team-handling experience preferred.

The Area Sales Manager will be accountable for sales growth, market expansion, distributor development, customer acquisition, team productivity and collection performance in the assigned territory, while ensuring proper implementation of Atom Wellness's sales strategies and company policies.
