Full job description

The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for planning, shooting, editing and publishing short-form content that increases Giftlaya’s reach, engagement, brand recall and sales.

This is not only a social media posting role. The candidate should be comfortable appearing on camera when required, developing creative concepts, shooting products, editing reels and creating content based on current trends without making the brand look repetitive or overly promotional.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and create daily content for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
Develop creative concepts for reels, product videos, customer stories and promotional campaigns.
Shoot high-quality product photographs and videos using a smartphone or camera.
Create reels for personalised gifts, cakes, flowers, decorations and surprise experiences.
Write engaging captions, hooks, video scripts and calls to action.
Edit short-form videos with suitable music, transitions, subtitles and visual effects.
Create content around birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, festivals and other occasions.
Track trending audio, formats, memes and content styles relevant to Giftlaya.
Adapt trends creatively while maintaining Giftlaya’s brand identity.
Prepare and maintain a weekly or monthly social media content calendar.
Coordinate with designers, video editors, marketing executives and product teams.
Work with the operations team to capture real customer orders and decoration setups.
Create behind-the-scenes content showing product preparation, packaging and delivery.
Publish content according to the approved schedule.
Respond to comments and encourage meaningful audience interaction when assigned.
Repurpose existing photographs and videos into fresh social media content.
Maintain an organised library of raw footage, edited videos and creative assets.
Ensure all content is original, accurate and suitable for commercial use.
Analyse content performance and identify which themes generate the most reach, enquiries and sales.
Suggest new content series and campaigns for growing Giftlaya’s social media presence.

Cake, flower and gifting reels
Decoration transformations
Before-and-after videos
Customer reaction videos
Behind-the-scenes content
Festival gifting campaigns
Trending reels and relatable content
Offer and discount promotions
Founder or team-led videos
Educational gifting tips
User-generated and customer-review content
Influencer collaboration content

Required Skills

Strong understanding of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
Good smartphone photography and videography skills.
Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva or similar tools.
Ability to shoot and edit engaging short-form videos independently.
Strong sense of visual composition, framing, lighting and colour.
Ability to write attention-grabbing hooks and short scripts.
Understanding of social media trends and audience behaviour.
Basic knowledge of hashtags, keywords and social media SEO.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple content deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and brand consistency.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We would prefer someone who:

Has previously created content for gifting, food, events, fashion, lifestyle or e-commerce brands.
Is comfortable appearing in videos and giving voiceovers.
Can convert simple products into visually attractive content.
Understands that engaging content should also support business goals.
Can generate fresh ideas without copying competitors.
Knows how to create natural-looking content that does not feel like a forced advertisement.
Can work independently from concept and shooting to final editing.
Is willing to attend selected decoration setups or product shoots when required.
Understands Indian festivals, gifting occasions and celebration trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or relevant diploma preferred.
1–3 years of experience in content creation, social media or video production.
Freshers with an excellent portfolio may also apply.
A portfolio of reels, videos, photographs or social media pages is mandatory.
