Leisure Holidays Consultant | Comfort Leisure Pvt.Ltd.
Experience: 3–5 years
Location: Bengaluru (on-site)
Reports to: Director, Comfort Leisure
Role type: Revenue-carrying
About Comfort Leisure
Comfort Leisure is a 16-year-old outbound travel agency based in Bengaluru. We design and execute international holidays for discerning Indian travellers — primarily Senior Travellers (60+ years) who value comfort, safety, slow pace, and a trusted person to guide every detail of their trip.
Our customers don't pick us because we're the cheapest. They pick us because they don't want to think about anything once their trip is planned — they want to know that the person they're trusting has it covered. Many of our customers are on their 4th, 5th, or 6th holiday with us.
Our strategic direction is to grow these senior relationships into multi-generational family travel — over time, our Senior Travellers naturally bring their adult children and grandchildren into the next holiday, building 5-10 year customer arcs.

About the Role
As a Leisure Holidays Consultant, you are the trusted advisor and end-to-end orchestrator of your customers' international holidays. From their first enquiry to the post-trip thank-you call, you own the customer relationship.
This is a revenue-carrying role with measurable targets — not a back-office coordinator role. Your performance is judged on bookings closed, customer satisfaction, and the relationships you build that lead to repeat and referral business.
You will be deeply familiar with — and ideally already love — our primary customer segment: Senior Travellers. They want patience, depth of destination knowledge, gentle communication, and the assurance that someone is genuinely thinking about them
Who You'll Serve
Our primary customer: Senior Travellers (60+)
Couples and individuals aged 60–75, often retired or semi-retired with disposable income. They travel internationally for milestone occasions (anniversaries, retirement trips, long-cherished destinations) and value comfort over thrill, cultural depth over checkbox sightseeing, and a single trusted point of contact over self-service apps.
Our future direction: Families (through senior traveller relationships)
Over time, our Senior Travellers bring their adult children and grandchildren into the next holiday — a family destination wedding, a multi-generational European tour, a school-holiday trip with grandkids. Comfort with both segments is essential.
What You'll Do
- Conduct in-depth discovery conversations with new and existing customers — understand their travel dreams, constraints, mobility, dietary, decision-makers, and family.
- Design customised, mostly bespoke holiday proposals — destinations across Europe, Asia, ANZ, and the US — that explicitly address each customer's stated preferences.
- Manage the booking process end-to-end — flights via GDS or consolidator, hotels and tours via our DMCs, visas (Schengen, UK, US, ASEAN, Gulf), and travel insurance.
- Maintain absolute accuracy on every booking — name, date, sector, room category, dietary, mobility needs. Zero-error is the standard.
- Conduct pre-departure briefings 7–10 days before each trip — walk the customer through their documents, destination culture, currency, and emergency contacts.
- Make a personal post-trip call within 48 hours of every customer's return. Collect feedback, capture testimonials, and tag family-extension opportunities.
- Nurture customer relationships across the year — festival greetings, destination content, anniversary check-ins — without it ever feeling salesy.
- Negotiate effectively with suppliers and DMCs to secure better commercials, room upgrades, and value-adds for our customers.
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini) effectively for destination research, first-draft itineraries, and email drafting — but always validate before sending to a customer.
- Maintain disciplined records in the Sales Tracker — every lead, every follow-up, every interaction.
What Success Looks Like in Year 1 - In your first 12 months, you will:
- Handle 40+ qualified leads per month, with first response within 4 working hours.
- Convert ≥ 25% of proposals you send into confirmed bookings.
- Deliver ₹40–45 lakh in personal booked revenue across the year.
- Maintain customer satisfaction (CSAT) of ≥ 4.5/5 across all post-trip feedback.
- Build a base of 30+ Senior Traveller relationships, with named recurring customers.
- Generate ≥ 30% of revenue from repeat and referral business by month 12.
- Initiate family-extension conversations from senior customers — moving us toward multi-generational bookings.
- Develop deep expertise in 2–3 hero destinations for our segment.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a travel consultant, travel desk executive, or in a customer-facing hospitality role with measurable conversion or revenue responsibility.
- Direct experience selling international holidays to Indian outbound travellers — exposure to Schengen, UK, US, ASEAN, and Gulf visa processes.
- Hands-on experience with at least one GDS (Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre) OR a major consolidator portal (Akbar, Riya, ITC).
- Comfortable with AI tools (ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini) for destination research and first-draft itineraries.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism Management, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and spoken English. Kannada or Tamil is a strong plus given our Bengaluru customer base.
Ideal Candidate (the personality, not just the skills):
If most of these describe you, we'd love to hear from you:
- You're genuinely comfortable with — and enjoy talking to — people 20–30 years older than you. You listen patiently. You don't hurry them.
- You close the sale. You see yourself as a revenue contributor, not a coordinator, and you're comfortable being measured on conversion rate.
- You negotiate without being adversarial — with both clients (on price) and suppliers (on commercials).
- You pick up unstated needs — when a customer pauses, or hesitates, or mentions something offhand, you catch it.
- You're resilient. Out of every 10 leads, 6–7 may not convert. You see this as data, not rejection.
- You own crises. If a flight cancels at 2 am or a hotel oversells, you act first and escalate second. Your customers don't feel alone.
- You're curious about the world. You read travel writing, watch documentaries, follow what's happening in destinations you sell.
- You're detail-obsessed. You proofread your own emails. You re-check passport names before issuing tickets. You don't make repeat mistakes.
- You're willing to use AI tools to be 2x faster, while staying responsible for the final output going to the customer.
- You see this role as a 3–5 year commitment, not a stepping stone. Senior travellers reward loyalty — they will pick the agent who's been there for them, not the agency.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) plus performance-based incentives tied to revenue and CSAT.
- A structured 30-day onboarding programme covering our products, customer segments, and sales framework.
- Direct mentorship from our Director, who has 16+ years of industry experience.
- Access to AI tools, GDS, consolidator portals, and our network of trusted DMCs.
- Weekly 1:1 coaching sessions, quarterly development conversations, transparent annual appraisals.
- A career growth path — high performers move to Senior Consultant, Team Lead, or destination-specialist roles within 18–24 months.
- Familiarisation (FAM) trips to key destinations to deepen your product knowledge.
- A small, focused team where your contribution is visible and recognised — not lost in a large organisation.
