Job Description – Assistant Manager (L&D)

Designation: Assistant Manager – Learning & Development
Department: Human Resources / Learning & Development

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Learning & Development to support the design, execution, and evaluation of learning initiatives across the organization. The role will work closely with business teams and HR stakeholders to identify capability gaps and deliver impactful learning programs that improve employee performance and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Identify training and development needs through Training Needs Analysis (TNA), business discussions, performance data, and employee feedback.
Design and execute learning programs, workshops, induction programs, and capability-building initiatives.
Coordinate end-to-end training programs, including planning, scheduling, trainer coordination, communication, attendance, and feedback.
Develop and curate training content, presentations, learning modules, facilitator guides, and other L&D resources.
Partner with business leaders, HRBPs, and functional teams to understand skill gaps and create relevant learning interventions.
Manage employee onboarding and functional training programs as required.
Support leadership development, behavioral training, soft-skills training, and functional capability-building initiatives.
Identify and coordinate with internal and external trainers/facilitators.
Track training participation, completion, learner feedback, and program effectiveness.
Measure learning outcomes through assessments, feedback surveys, and post-training performance indicators.
Maintain accurate L&D dashboards, MIS, training calendars, and program reports.
Support implementation and administration of LMS/LXP or other digital learning platforms.
Drive employee engagement through learning campaigns, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous learning initiatives.
Ensure learning programs are aligned with organizational goals and business priorities.
Manage multiple L&D projects simultaneously and ensure timely execution.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of learning & development processes and training methodologies.
Experience in training needs analysis, content development, and program management.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and other productivity tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and execution skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification

MBA/PGDM in HR, Learning & Development, Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
Graduation in any relevant discipline.

Preferred Experience

3–6 years of experience in learning & development, training, talent development, or organizational development.
Experience in EdTech, technology, retail, sales, or other high-volume organizations will be preferred.
Exposure to designing and delivering learning programs for diverse employee groups will be an advantage.
