Full job description

Role Purpose

The Head of Health Management will provide strategic medical and health leadership across the organization, ensuring that employee health, occupational medicine, wellness, and emergency medical preparedness are fully integrated into the company’s EHS governance and Zero Harm culture.

This role requires a senior medical professional with deep industry exposure, capable of transitioning medical expertise into organizational strategy, governance, and leadership influence at corporate and site levels.

Experience & Qualification Requirements

Essential Qualifications

MBBS with Post‑Graduate qualification in one or more of the following:
- Occupational Health / Industrial Medicine
- Community Medicine / Preventive & Social Medicine
- Public Health (MPH)
Valid medical registration with relevant medical council.
Associate fellow in industrial hygiene.
Additional certifications in Occupational Health, emergency medicine, or health systems will be an advantage.

Experience Profile

20-25 years of total professional experience, with:
- At least 12–15 years in Engineering, Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, manufacturing, or heavy Industry
- Minimum 8-10 years in a corporate / regional leadership role as Head of Health Management / Corporate Medical Head
Proven experience supporting:
- Multiple factories, project sites, and offices
- Contract workforce health management
- Leadership interactions with Business Heads, CEO/ MD

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Health Management Leadership

Define and implement the Corporate Health Management Strategy aligned with EHS objectives, legal requirements, and business priorities.
Establish health as a core enabler of Zero Harm and business continuity, not merely a compliance function.
Translate medical strategy into scalable programs across factories, project sites, and offices.

2. Occupational & Preventive Health Governance

Lead programs for:
- Occupational disease prevention
- Health surveillance and medical examinations
- Fitness‑for‑work and return‑to‑work protocols
Ensure compliance with:
- Factories Act (India) and applicable local laws
- Global EHS / Occupational Health standards
Own medical governance related to contractors and high‑risk work environments.

3. Emergency Medical Preparedness & Crisis Support

Define medical emergency preparedness frameworks as part of:
- Emergency Response Teams (ERT)
- Crisis Management Teams (CMT)
Guide:
- Medical response protocols
- Selection and audit of external medical facilities
- Pandemic, outbreak, and mass‑casualty preparedness
Provide medical leadership during major incidents and crises, in coordination with EHS, Security, P&O (HR), and Leadership.

4. Workplace Wellness & Psychosocial Health

Lead holistic health programs covering:
- Physical health
- Mental health and psychosocial well‑being
- Fatigue management and lifestyle risks
Partner with P&O (HR) and leadership to build:
- Manager sensitization programs
- Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)
- Well‑being metrics linked to engagement and productivity

5. Medical Infrastructure & Vendor Governance

Establish standards for:
- Occupational health centers
- Medical rooms at sites and offices
Evaluate and govern:
- External doctors, hospitals, ambulance providers, and diagnostics partners
Ensure quality, ethics, and cost‑effectiveness of medical services.

6. Data, Reporting & Digital Health Enablement

Own health‑related KPIs, dashboards, and analytics.
Integrate health data into enterprise EHS systems and management reviews.
Drive digitalization of health records, surveillance, and trend analysis while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

7. Leadership, Culture & Capability Building

Act as the organization’s senior medical voice, influencing leadership decisions with evidence‑based insights.
Build and mentor the internal Health Management team.
Conduct leadership‑level health briefings and safety moments.
Represent the organization in external forums, audits, and national EHS/health excellence platforms.
