Job Description – Logistics Coordinator

Position: Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and other supplies to ensure timely delivery. The role involves working closely with Production, Stores, Dispatch, Transporters, and Customers to ensure efficient logistics operations while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate the dispatch of finished goods as per customer schedules.
Arrange transportation and negotiate with transporters for timely deliveries.
Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and ensure on-time movement of materials.
Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, and Sales departments for dispatch planning.
Prepare shipping documents, delivery challans, e-way bills, invoices, packing lists, and transport documents.
Track shipments and provide delivery status updates to customers and management.
Ensure compliance with transportation, statutory, and company policies.
Resolve transportation issues, delays, damages, and customer complaints.
Maintain logistics records, dispatch registers, and transporter performance reports.
Monitor freight costs and support cost optimization initiatives.
Coordinate with warehouse personnel for proper loading and unloading activities.
Ensure safe handling and packaging of materials during transportation.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics MIS reports.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or any related field.
Diploma holders with relevant logistics experience may also apply.

Required Skills

Knowledge of logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations.
Familiarity with dispatch documentation, e-way bills, invoices, and shipping procedures.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and ERP systems (SAP/Tally/Oracle or similar).
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Experience

Freshers: Graduates with strong computer skills and an interest in logistics may apply.
Experienced: 1–5 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or supply chain operations is preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-time dispatch and delivery performance.
Shipment accuracy and documentation compliance.
Freight cost optimization.
Reduction in delivery delays and transportation issues.
Customer satisfaction regarding deliveries.
Inventory movement accuracy.
Timely preparation of logistics reports.

Working Conditions

Factory, warehouse, or office environment.
Frequent coordination with transporters, suppliers, and customers.
May require extended hours during peak dispatch periods.

Salary

As per company standards and based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,243.91 per month
