BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

1. JOB PURPOSE
The Project Manager will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and administration of the Uttam Xikhya Project, which aims to enhance the educational quality in Tea Garden model schools within tea garden communities in select districts in Assam. The role involves managing project activities, ensuring compliance with THF's policies, and fostering partnerships with various stakeholders.
2. Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Program and Administrative Management
Project Execution: Manage, execute, and track the implementation of the Uttam Xikhya Project according to annual plans and program strategy, coordinating closely with the North East (NE) Regional office.
Budget and Compliance: Regularly track budget and expenses, ensuring utilization aligns with the plan and legal compliances.
Community Engagement: Organize and facilitate events and meetings with the community, parents, girls, and teachers.
Procurement and Distribution: Adhere to THF procurement policy for timely procurement and distribution of material support to girls.
Stakeholder Relations: Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, in consultation with the THF NE regional office.
Resource Exploration: Explore and secure new resources benefiting girls, the community, and the overall program.
Government Liaison: Work closely with government school staff and officials at the block and district levels to ensure quality program implementation, in consultation with the THF NE regional office.
Community-Based Learning Centers: Assist the project coordinators and life skill educators in ensuring the effective operation of Community-Based Learning Centers (CBLs) as per SOP.
Program Delivery Feedback: Conduct observations of Life Skills Education and Career Guidance Sessions to understand program delivery and provide feedback.
B. Team Support
On-the-Job Support: Provide support to Life Skills Education Mentors and Project Coordinators, ensuring coordination and support.
Planning and Review: Conduct regular planning and review meetings with the team.
Field Team Management: Manage field team attendance and leave records related to the Uttam Xikhya Project.
C. Monitoring and Evaluation
Field Monitoring: Conduct regular visits to schools and project locations for monitoring, submitting reports in the desired format.
Record Review: Oversee base records related to all project activities and ensure compliance.
Data Management: Support the verification and entry of data into the online dashboard.
Data Analysis: Analyse and share dashboard data during monthly/quarterly meetings as required by the THF NE regional office.
Additional Data Tasks: Perform any other data entry tasks assigned by the reporting manager.
D. Reporting and Documentation
Report Compilation: Collect and compile Monthly Program Reports and Quarterly Progress Reports from field staff, ensuring timely submission to the NE regional office.
Documentation: Document good practices, success stories, and case studies related to the program.
E. Supporting Regional/State Office-Level Activities and Priorities
Liaison Role: Act as the primary liaison between project staff and the regional office, if applicable.
Government Coordination: Liaison with state & district level officials to ensure smooth and timely program implementation.
Site Visits: Coordinate site visits for core team members, donors, and potential program donors.
Research Support: Assist in conducting research/studies planned for the year.
Training and Meetings: Participate in meetings, thematic trainings, and workshops conducted by THF at regional/state/country levels.
Logistical Support: Undertake logistical work related to the program.
Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks assigned by the reporting manager to fulfil the program's objectives.
Educational Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work, public administration, sociology, education, or any other relevant area.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

Prior experience of at least 7-10 years in managing/coordinating education programs.

Knowledge of one or more of the thematic areas Skills/mentoring/related to adolescent girls is preferred.

Prior experience in managing, coaching, and guiding a team and managing MIS and data.

Awareness of issues about education sector in state of Assam. Known expertise in the education domain is highly desired.

Knowledge and reach of the Govt machinery in respect to the Department of Education, Govt. of Assam.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to manage diverse tasks and interact with the varied stakeholders involved in the program.

Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing documents like program reports, budget documents and presentations.

Computer literacy in standard word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software along with internet skills.

Available for frequent travel to project locations in Assam
