The Site Installation & Commissioning Specialist is responsible for transforming engineering designs into functional smart living spaces. This on-field role sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, premium interior finishing, IT networking, and high-touch customer management. The engineer orchestrates initial site inspections, ensures structural readiness, commissions edge controllers, optimizes localized communication networks, and manages the critical final handover process to clients and design partners. Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled, field-proven Home Automation Installation Engineer to lead the physical deployment, structured cabling, programming, and technical commissioning of advanced smart home systems. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex automation architectures into stable, high-performance systems. You must have extensive hands-on experience routing and terminating structured low-voltage cabling, assembling centralized equipment racks, installing premium user interfaces, and integrating network-dependent security and motorization systems. Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Network & Infrastructure Deployment: Layer, route, lace, and terminate Cat6 LAN cables using industry-standard specifications (T568B); configure and deploy PoE (Power over Ethernet) network switches, ensuring proper power budget allocation for high-draw devices.
- Security & Access Integration: Install, wire, and commission IP-based CCTV cameras and Video Door Phones (VDP); configure static IP addresses, RTSP streaming profiles, and SIP communication to feed lag-free video and audio alerts directly to centralized systems.
- Control & Interface Installation: Flush-mount and wire capacitive touch panels, smart switches, and multi-gang architectural keypad switches, ensuring clean alignment, deep back-box cable management, and proper communication bus line terminations.
- Curtain Motorization & Actuators: Mount, wire, and calibrate automatic curtain motors, motorized blinds, and roller shades; configure dry-contact triggers or direct protocol-based relay logic to align open/close limits with system scenes.
- AV Rack Building & System Testing: Assemble and wire centralized AV racks; cleanly tie and label lines for media sources, distributed audio amplifiers, and matrix switches while maintaining strict thermal control and cable management standards.
- End-to-End Commissioning: Perform comprehensive continuity, packet-drop, and signal testing across all network lines, sensor nodes, and peripheral hardware to guarantee zero downtime prior to client handover.
Position Framework
· Department: Projects, Deployment & Technical Operations
· Reporting To: Project Head / Lead Installation Engineer
· Employment Type: Full-time, Field-centric
· Core Environments: Custom Residential Villas, Premium Apartments, Architectural Experience Spaces
Core Responsibilities & Technical Execution
· Pre-Fix Site Auditing & Blueprints: Perform systematic on-site walkthroughs during civil layout and bare-shell stages to audit structural drop-ceilings, deep electrical back-boxes, and physical barriers affecting wireless frequencies.
· Electrician Supervision & Governance: Work closely with third-party project electricians to mandate proper routing of low-voltage/bus wiring (CAT6, KNX cable) and ensure absolute physical isolation from high-voltage lines.
· Hardware Deployment & Care: Install, patch, and wire central automation panels, smart keypads, trailing/leading-edge dimming modules, motorized curtain tracks, occupancy sensors, and smart locking systems.
· Enterprise Networking Optimization: Build and configure localized network backbones, including managed network switches, PoE access points, and smart IoT hubs. Optimize DHCP reservation maps and segment IoT devices.
· Automation Logic & Ecosystem Programming: Program custom logic, conditional schedules, human-centric circadian dimming profiles, and inter-device behaviors. Securely link systems with voice engines (Alexa, Google, Apple HomeKit).
· RF Mesh & Communication Quality Assurance: Systematically audit signal health for Zigbee, Bluetooth mesh ,Z-Wave, or wired buses using packet sniffers or diagnostic apps to avoid signal drops.
· Client Handover, Training & Service Sign-off: Conduct final walkthroughs to deliver comprehensive, simplified operational training to homeowners and senior family members, securing formal site sign-offs.
30-60-90 Day Performance Roadmap
· Day 30 (Onboarding & Baseline Fluency): Attain complete technical mastery over the company's wireless/wired product ecosystems. Shadow senior engineers on at least 5 complex deployments. Pass internal network architecture evaluation.
· Day 60 (Autonomous Project Deployment): Take complete, independent technical ownership of mid-sized 3BHK/4BHK properties from first wiring audit to final software configuration. Achieve a First-Time-Right (FTR) execution score of >90%.
Day 90 (Master Scale & Optimization): Lead technical delivery on multi-tier luxury villa commissions. Minimize post-handover troubleshooting tickets to <5% within the first month of deployment. Train junior site technicians.
Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹36,000.00 per month

Application Question(s):
- How many years of relevant experience you have ?
- Q1: 'If a premium client complains that their smart lighting switches occasionally take 2-3 seconds to respond or fail completely, what is your step-by-step troubleshooting process?'
- 'Why is a common neutral wire mandatory at the switchboard for smart automation, and how do you handle an active site where the traditional electrician forgot to pull neutral wires to the switch boxes?
- 'How do you configure a home network to ensure that heavy smart home device traffic does not interfere with the client's high-speed work-from-home internet bandwidth?'
- 'Can you describe a complex automation scene or logic loop you programmed in a past project? How did you tie lighting, climate, and curtain motors together?'
