# Job Description – Sales Executive

### Construction Equipment Dealership | Indore & Bhopal

**Position:** Sales Executive – Construction Equipment

**Department:** Sales & Marketing

**Location:** Indore & Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

**Employment Type:** Full-Time | Field Sales

**Reporting To:** Sales Manager / Branch Head

## 1. Job Purpose

The Sales Executive will be responsible for **generating sales of construction and heavy equipment** in the assigned territory of Indore, Bhopal and nearby areas. The candidate will identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with contractors and infrastructure companies, conduct product demonstrations, achieve sales targets and ensure effective coordination for customer satisfaction.

## 2. Key Responsibilities

### Sales & Business Development

* Achieve assigned **monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets**.

* Generate new leads through regular market visits and field activities.

* Identify potential customers including:

* Construction Companies

* Infrastructure Companies

* Builders & Contractors

* Road & Highway Contractors

* Mining Companies

* RMC/Concrete Companies

* Government/Infrastructure Project Contractors

* Equipment Rental Companies

* Develop and maintain a strong customer network across **Indore, Bhopal and surrounding markets**.

* Convert leads into orders through effective follow-up, negotiation and relationship management.

* Prepare territory-wise sales plans and execute them effectively.

### Product Sales

* Promote and sell construction equipment such as **Excavators, Backhoe Loaders, Wheel Loaders, Compactors, Motor Graders, Concrete Equipment, Rock Breakers and other allied machinery**, as applicable to the dealership.

* Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable equipment.

* Conduct product presentations and machine demonstrations.

* Explain product features, technical advantages, operating benefits and commercial value to customers.

* Coordinate with technical/service teams for demonstrations and trials.

### Customer & Relationship Management

* Build long-term relationships with customers, contractors, dealers and key decision-makers.

* Regularly visit existing and prospective customers.

* Understand customer requirements, project pipeline and equipment replacement needs.

* Handle customer queries and coordinate with internal teams for timely resolution.

* Maintain regular follow-up until order closure and machine delivery.

### Market Development

* Conduct regular market surveys to identify new projects and business opportunities.

* Track upcoming construction, road, infrastructure and mining projects.

* Monitor competitor activities, pricing, products and market strategies.

* Provide regular **market intelligence and competitor reports** to management.

* Develop new customer segments and expand the company's market presence.

### Sales Process & Documentation

* Maintain daily sales calls, leads and customer visit records.

* Maintain a proper sales pipeline and follow up on all active leads.

* Prepare quotations and coordinate with the concerned team for commercial proposals.

* Coordinate with finance teams regarding customer financing requirements.

* Follow up for purchase orders, documentation, invoicing and machine delivery.

* Ensure timely collection/payment follow-up as per company policy.

### Coordination & After-Sales Support

* Coordinate with **Service, Spare Parts, Finance and Operations teams** for smooth order execution.

* Support customers during machine delivery, installation and demonstration.

* Follow up on customer satisfaction and after-sales requirements.

* Escalate service-related issues to the concerned department and ensure timely resolution.

* Maintain strong customer relationships after the sale for repeat business and referrals.

## 3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

* Monthly & quarterly sales achievement

* Number of new leads generated

* Lead-to-order conversion ratio

* Number of customer visits

* New customer acquisition

* Product demonstrations conducted

* Order booking and machine deliveries

* Collection/receivables performance

* Territory-wise business growth

* Customer retention and repeat business

* Competitor and market intelligence reporting

## 4. Educational Qualification

**Preferred:**

* Graduate in any discipline.

* Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in **Mechanical/Automobile/Civil Engineering** will be an advantage.

* MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.

## 5. Experience

* **1–5 years** of experience in Sales / Business Development.

* Experience in **Construction Equipment, Heavy Machinery, Automobile, Commercial Vehicles, Industrial Equipment or Capital Equipment Sales** will be preferred.

* Candidates with experience in brands/dealerships such as **JCB, Tata Hitachi, SANY, Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hyundai, Volvo, Mahindra Construction Equipment** or similar industries will be preferred.

Current MP construction-equipment sales postings commonly seek around 1–5 years of relevant experience, while some equipment-sales roles prefer 2–6 years depending on seniority.

## 6. Required Skills

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Strong sales and convincing ability

* Customer relationship management

* Lead generation and follow-up

* Knowledge of construction/heavy equipment market

* Good knowledge of Indore & Bhopal market

* Target-oriented and self-motivated

* Good presentation skills

* Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word and CRM/Sales reporting

* Ability to work independently in field sales

* Strong networking and relationship-building skills

## 7. Other Requirements

* **Two-wheeler and valid driving licence mandatory/preferred.**

* Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

* Good command of **Hindi and basic English**.

* Candidates from **Indore/Bhopal or nearby locations** will be preferred.

Field travel and a two-wheeler/valid licence are common requirements in current construction-equipment sales openings in Bhopal and MP.

## 8. Compensation

**Salary:** As per candidate's experience and market standards

**Incentive:** Performance/Sales Target based

## 9. Ideal Candidate Profile

A **result-oriented field sales professional** who has strong contacts with contractors, builders, infrastructure companies and equipment users, understands the construction-equipment market, is comfortable with extensive travel and can independently generate leads and convert them into sales.
