About Reinste Nano Ventures
Reinste Nano Ventures operates in the nanotechnology and advanced-materials domain, supporting research and industrial applications through nanomaterials, formulation knowledge, application development, and lab-to-market thinking. The organisation works with research communities and industries seeking material-based solutions across packaging, healthcare, biotechnology, sustainability, coatings, and product innovation.
Opportunity Summary
The Nano-Lab Trainee will participate in a structured, mentor-led research learning programme focused on applied nanotechnology, functional coatings, material formulation, scientific documentation, and product-development thinking. The trainee will work on guided assignments, literature-based research, case discussions, and application-oriented project activities. This is a learning-focused internship and does not constitute regular employment.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct guided literature searches on nanomaterials, functional coatings, surface modification, biopolymers, and relevant industrial applications.
· Support the planning of application-oriented research assignments and document research questions, assumptions, methods, observations, and conclusions.
· Study nanotechnology-based coating concepts for antimicrobial, protective, packaging, healthcare, and material-surface applications.
· Assist with formulation planning, material-selection logic, testing approaches, and comparative analysis under mentor supervision.
· Prepare structured research notes, technical summaries, presentation slides, product-concept briefs, and project-progress updates.
· Participate in mentor meetings, case-based discussions, review sessions, and assigned project presentations.
· Explore sustainability, scalability, commercialization, and lab-to-market considerations for proposed material solutions.
· Follow research-integrity, confidentiality, documentation, citation, data-handling, and safety instructions applicable to assigned work.
Research and Learning Areas
· Functional and nanotechnology-based coatings for practical applications
· Antimicrobial and protective coatings for packaging and healthcare
· Surface modification using nano-formulations
· Biopolymer-based and sustainable coating technologies
· Scientific research tools, literature analysis, documentation, and product planning
· Formulation development, testing strategy, and research interpretation
· Product development, innovation planning, and lab-to-market translation
· Industry applications of nanotechnology and materials science
Eligibility
Applications are invited from students or recent learners enrolled in, or having completed, a B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Tech, MBA, or a related programme. Relevant backgrounds may include:
· Nanotechnology, materials science, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacy, chemical engineering, polymer science, or related scientific fields
· Innovation management, product management, technology management, entrepreneurship, or related management disciplines with a clear interest in science-led product development
Required Skills and Attributes
· Genuine interest in scientific research, nanotechnology, applied materials, formulation, or product innovation
· Ability to read scientific information and summarize it clearly in English
· Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and online research
· Attention to detail, responsible documentation, and respect for deadlines
· Willingness to accept feedback, revise work, and participate consistently in mentor-led activities
· Ability to work independently in an online environment while communicating progress regularly
Preferred Knowledge
· Basic understanding of nanoparticles, coatings, polymers, materials characterization, microbiology, or product development
· Exposure to literature databases, citation practices, data analysis, laboratory documentation, or technical report writing
· Previous academic project, dissertation, seminar, poster, research assignment, or innovation competition
Learning Outcomes
Subject to the assigned project and the trainee’s academic background, participants may develop:
· A structured understanding of applied nanotechnology and functional-material research
· Practical exposure to research planning, literature evaluation, formulation logic, testing strategy, and scientific documentation
· Experience connecting laboratory concepts with industrial problems and product opportunities
· Improved technical communication through research summaries, presentations, and project discussions
· Awareness of innovation planning, sustainability, scale-up, and commercialization fundamentals
Performance and Completion
Performance will be reviewed based on attendance, professional conduct, quality and originality of submitted work, timely completion of assignments, participation in mentor reviews, documentation quality, and final project presentation.
