Position: Business Development Executive

Department: Business Development

Reporting To: Business Development Manager / Head of Business Development
Location: Chennai

1. About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Business Development Executive to support our business growth and client acquisition initiatives.

The candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, researching potential clients, initiating conversations, generating qualified leads, developing client relationships, coordinating meetings, and supporting the conversion of opportunities into projects.

This role is ideal for an individual who is confident in communication, enjoys interacting with clients, is comfortable with business outreach, and has a strong interest in sales and business development.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Lead Generation

Identify and research potential clients, companies, projects, and business opportunities.
Generate new leads through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, databases, and market research.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Identify decision-makers, key stakeholders, project heads, architects, consultants, developers, and other relevant contacts.
Develop and maintain a database of prospects and business opportunities.

Client Acquisition

Initiate contact with prospective clients and introduce the company's services.
Understand client requirements, project needs, budgets, timelines, and expectations.
Qualify leads based on business potential and project requirements.
Schedule meetings, presentations, site visits, and discussions with prospective clients.
Follow up consistently with prospects to move opportunities through the business development pipeline.
Assist senior management in converting qualified opportunities into business.

Market & Project Research

Research upcoming projects, tenders, developments, expansions, renovations, and potential business opportunities.
Track relevant industries, companies, developers, contractors, architects, consultants, institutions, and government/private projects.
Identify opportunities where the company's services can be positioned.
Maintain regular updates on market trends, competitor activities, and potential clients.

Relationship Management

Build and maintain professional relationships with prospects and existing clients.
Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders.
Understand client requirements and coordinate internally to provide appropriate solutions.
Ensure timely follow-up and professional communication throughout the sales process.

Sales Support

Prepare client databases, lead reports, opportunity trackers, and follow-up schedules.
Assist in preparing company presentations, proposals, capability statements, quotations, and other business development materials.
Coordinate with the design, technical, estimation, project, and management teams as required.
Support senior team members during client meetings and presentations.
Maintain accurate records of all leads, interactions, meetings, opportunities, and outcomes in the CRM or business development tracker.

3. Performance Expectations / KPIs

The candidate will be evaluated based on:

Number of qualified leads generated.
Number of new prospects identified.
Number of client meetings and presentations scheduled.
Number of new business opportunities developed.
Follow-up and conversion rate.
Pipeline value generated.
New accounts / clients acquired.
Quality and accuracy of CRM/database management.
Consistency in business development activities.
Contribution towards overall revenue and project acquisition.

4. Required Skills

Good presentation and negotiation skills.
Strong follow-up and persuasion abilities.
Ability to conduct market and client research.
Good understanding of lead generation and business development.
Comfortable with cold calling and professional outreach.
Strong networking abilities.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work with targets and deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace.
Basic knowledge of CRM tools is an advantage.
Knowledge of LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms is preferred.

5. Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Architecture, Engineering, or any relevant discipline.
Candidates with strong communication, sales aptitude, and business development skills may also be considered.

6. Experience

0–3 years of experience in any of the following areas:

Inside Sales
Lead Generation

Telecalling / Outbound Sales
Marketing
Customer Relationship Management

Freshers with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in business development may also be considered.
