Full job description

Position Summary :-

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes for blade, sword blade, industrial knife, and related metal products. The role focuses on process design, machine selection, machine installation, production line optimization, tooling development, and manufacturing efficiency. The engineer works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Design teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities ;-

Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes for blade and sword blade production.
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow charts, work instructions, and process parameters.
Validate manufacturing processes before full-scale production.
Standardize production methods across manufacturing lines.
Continuously improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Machine Selection & Technology Evaluation :-

Evaluate and recommend suitable machinery for blade manufacturing operations.
Select equipment for VMC machining, grinding, polishing, heat treatment, laser cutting, stamping, sharpening, surface finishing, and inspection.
Perform technical and economic feasibility studies for new equipment.
Recommend automation solutions to improve production capacity and reduce manufacturing costs.

Machine Installation & Commissioning :-

Lead installation, commissioning, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment.
Coordinate with machine manufacturers and vendors during installation and startup.
Conduct machine capability studies and production trials.
Ensure machines meet production, quality, and safety requirements before handover.

Process Improvement :-

Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and process inefficiencies.
Reduce cycle time, scrap, rework, and production costs.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and manufacturing productivity.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Product & Tooling Development :-

Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing manufacturing processes.
Design and improve fixtures, jigs, tooling, and workholding methods.
Collaborate with Design and R&D teams to improve manufacturability.
Optimize machining and grinding parameters for improved product quality.

Production Support :-

Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance teams.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and machine-related issues.
Monitor process performance and recommend corrective actions.
Train operators on new processes and equipment.

Safety & Compliance :-

Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company safety standards.
Support implementation of ISO quality systems and operational procedures.
Promote safe work practices, 5S, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.

Qualifications :-

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Process Engineering are preferred.

Experience :-

5–10 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering.
Experience in blade, sword blade, industrial knife, hand tool, precision metal, or metal fabrication industries is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with machine installation, equipment selection, and process implementation.

Technical Skills :-

Blade and sword blade manufacturing processes.
Machine installation and commissioning.
Machine selection and equipment evaluation.
CNC machining and grinding technology.
Heat treatment and metallurgical processes.
Polishing, sharpening, and surface finishing.
Tooling, fixtures, and process design.
Manufacturing process validation.
Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, 5S, SMED, and OEE.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, FMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
Process capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation.
