HR Manager

Department: Human Resources Experience: 5–6 Years Location: Surat, Gujarat

Industry: CNC Machine Manufacturing / Engineering

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to manage the complete HR function of the organization. The role will be responsible for manpower planning, recruitment, attendance, payroll coordination, employee engagement, performance management, HR policies, training, compliance, documentation, and employee discipline.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling day-to-day HR operations and coordinating with management and department heads for effective manpower and people management.

Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning

Handle end-to-end recruitment for technical, non-technical, managerial and blue-collar positions.
Prepare manpower requirements in coordination with department heads.
Manage job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews and selection.
Coordinate joining, onboarding and employee documentation.
Maintain recruitment MIS, open-position tracking and joining plans.

2. Attendance, Payroll & Employee Records

Manage daily attendance, leave, late-coming and absenteeism records.
Coordinate monthly payroll processing and salary-related activities.
Maintain employee master data and HR records.
Handle salary revisions, increments, advances and related documentation.
Ensure proper employee joining and exit documentation.

3. HR Policies & SOPs

Develop, implement and update HR policies, SOPs and employee guidelines.
Manage policies related to leave, attendance, overtime, advance salary, notice period, probation and discipline.
Ensure employees understand and follow company policies.
Maintain HR documentation and acknowledgement records.

4. Performance Management

Coordinate employee performance reviews and appraisal processes.
Develop KRAs/KPIs in coordination with department heads.
Monitor employee performance and identify performance gaps.
Handle PIP and performance improvement processes wherever required.
Support management in promotion, increment and role-change decisions.

5. Employee Relations & Discipline

Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns.
Manage disciplinary matters and employee counselling.
Conduct exit discussions and analyse reasons for attrition.
Maintain professional communication between employees, HODs and management.
Support management in resolving employee-related issues.

6. Training & Development

Identify training requirements department-wise.
Coordinate induction and employee onboarding programs.
Develop and maintain training modules for different departments.
Track training completion and employee development.
Support skill development and internal growth initiatives.

7. HR MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HR reports.
Maintain manpower, recruitment, attendance, attrition and employee-related MIS.
Track department-wise manpower requirements.
Provide management with regular HR updates and analysis.
Maintain HR dashboards and records for decision-making.

8. Compliance & Employee Documentation

Maintain statutory and HR compliance documentation.
Ensure proper employee files, agreements, NDA and other required documents.
Coordinate with management, accounts and consultants for compliance-related matters.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

9. HR Team Management

Supervise and guide HR executives, recruiters and HR/Admin team members.
Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor HR team performance.
Establish proper HR processes and reporting systems.
Ensure timely completion of recruitment and HR operational activities.

10. Employee Engagement & Culture

Plan employee engagement activities and initiatives.
Improve employee communication and workplace discipline.
Support employee retention initiatives.
Promote a professional and positive work culture.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of end-to-end HR operations.
Excellent recruitment and manpower planning skills.
Good understanding of payroll, attendance and HR MIS.
Strong employee handling and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience in developing HR policies and SOPs.
Good knowledge of performance management and appraisal processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good Excel/Google Sheets and HR reporting skills.
Ability to independently handle HR operations and coordinate with management.

Preferred Candidate

5–6 years of relevant HR experience.
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, CNC, automobile or industrial companies will be preferred.
Should have experience managing both white-collar and blue-collar employees.
Should be comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong ownership, discipline and problem-solving approach
