RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to understand project requirements, review mockups and wireframes, and translate them into fully functional, visually precise, and high performing websites.
- Develop custom WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores completely from scratch without relying on pre made themes or templates, ensuring every build is tailored precisely to client requirements.
- Customise existing WordPress themes and templates to match client brand guidelines, design specifications, and functional requirements with pixel perfect accuracy.
- Convert Figma, PSD, and PDF UI/UX designs into fully responsive, cross browser compatible, and accessible WordPress websites that honour every design detail.
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up to extend core functionality and meet specific client needs that existing solutions cannot address.
- Customise existing WordPress plugins to modify behaviour, add functionality, or resolve compatibility issues as required by client projects.
- Implement advanced WooCommerce customisations including custom product types, checkout flows, payment gateway integrations, and order management enhancements.
- Integrate third party APIs and services seamlessly into WordPress environments to enhance website features and extend platform capabilities.
- Implement comprehensive site speed optimisation techniques including image compression, lazy loading, caching strategies, database optimisation, CDN integration, and Core Web Vitals improvements to ensure fast loading times across all devices.
- Follow and implement WordPress security best practices to safeguard client websites from vulnerabilities, including regular audits, hardening measures, and proactive monitoring.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress core updates, security patches, theme and plugin releases, and apply them regularly to maintain optimal performance and security across all managed websites.
- Utilise AI tools for design and development workflows to enhance efficiency, accelerate delivery, and improve output quality across projects.
- Develop using Shopify Liquid for clients requiring Shopify theme customisation or development, leveraging knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem to deliver seamless ecommerce experiences.
- Address website bugs, technical issues, and performance problems efficiently with minimal disruption to live client websites.
- Assist with content management, website training, and troubleshooting for clients as required, ensuring they feel confident managing their own platforms post delivery.
- Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and technical excellence within the development team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years of hands on experience as a WordPress developer with a demonstrable portfolio of custom built websites and WooCommerce stores spanning diverse industries.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript including frameworks like jQuery, and PHP with the ability to write clean, efficient, and well documented code.
- Proven experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch without using pre made templates or frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to convert Figma, PSD, and PDF designs into fully functional responsive websites with precision and attention to detail.
- In depth understanding of WordPress architecture, the theme hierarchy, plugin development, hooks and filters, and the REST API.
- Proven experience optimising WordPress site speed including Core Web Vitals improvements, caching configuration, image optimisation, and database performance.
- Experience with version control systems particularly Git for collaborative development workflows.
- Knowledge of Shopify and Liquid templating language is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce development including custom product types, payment integrations, and checkout customisation.
- Experience with headless WordPress, custom post types, and advanced custom fields is advantageous.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices including WCAG compliance standards.
- Experience with server management, hosting environments, and deployment workflows is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in utilising AI tools to support and accelerate design and development workflows.
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high quality, maintainable code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across design, strategy, and client servicing teams.
- A passion for WordPress development and a genuine desire to stay current with the latest advancements in the platform and broader web development landscape.

WORK HOURS: Monday to Friday : 9:30am to 7:00pm
