Job Summary
This position will report into the Monitoring and Systems Engineering organization responsible for identifying and building out monitoring and instrumentation solutions for the OMF core applications. This position will work closely with Technology partners in understanding their environments and building required instrumentation, alerting, and automation that prevents adverse impact to our customers and business partners. Must have a strong aptitude for creative problem solving and be comfortable with complex system analysis and troubleshooting. Understand the principals of building a cohesive end-to-end path for alerting infrastructure, dashboard analysis and information gathering for escalation. Understand the principals of building a cohesive end-to-end path for alerting infrastructure, dashboard analysis and information gathering for escalation.\\\\r\\\\n \\\\r\\\\nResponsibilities\\\\r\\\\nDesign, build and maintain detailed instrumentation and alerting for the Enterprise Monitoring Center using the tools which are available to the SRE Team, including but not limited to: \\\\r\\\\nGrafana\\\\r\\\\nSolarWinds\\\\r\\\\nAppDynamics\\\\r\\\\nWhatsUp Gold\\\\r\\\\nScienceLogic EM7\\\\r\\\\nPingdom\\\\r\\\\nElastic\\\\r\\\\nBigPanda\\\\r\\\\nParticipate in complex projects and design new implementations as required to support new business initiatives. Ensure every step of a new transaction has proper logging to provide accurate reporting.\\\\r\\\\nEngage closely with application development teams, provide project-specific requirements to development teams for every project/release relative to logging, monitoring & alerting.\\\\r\\\\nEnsure alerts contain standardized payload as defined in the SRE procedures.\\\\r\\\\nWork closely with Level2 and Level3 to ensure all process changes are reflected in existing dashboards in use by the EMC.\\\\r\\\\nEnsure proper alert thresholds are maintained.\\\\r\\\\nCreate and maintain dashboards for the EMC and other OMF Teams as requested.\\\\r\\\\nLeverage BigPanda when possible as the central alert hub and ensure proper enrichment is happening when alerts are received.\\\\r\\\\nValidate CMDB information being feed to BigPanda is current and accurate.\\\\r\\\\nDevelop and maintain validation scripts executed by the EMC.\\\\r\\\\nActively identify new learning opportunities for self and team. Key Responsibilities

Skill Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Related field Minimum experience of 2 years working in a Technology organization. Previous experience in development of instrumentation and alerting within a large and complex monitoring center environment is required. Other Requirements
Nice To Have: Experience querying, manipulating, and displaying data stored in time series database formats. Understanding of how to get the correct/digestible information into a dashboard that is monitored by a Level2 Monitoring Team. Experience with Ansible.
