Role Overview

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) in Pune will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong distributor and channel networks, and managing end-to-end customer relationships across the assigned territory. The RSM will serve as the face of System 5s in the region, developing and executing a regional sales strategy aligned with the company's overall growth objectives.

This is a home-office-based role with extensive field engagement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in B2B sales, strong regional market knowledge, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the central sales and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
Identify and develop new business opportunities across key accounts, channel partners, and distribution networks within the territory.
Conduct regular market visits, product demonstrations, and customer engagement activities to drive conversions.
Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools and ensure accurate forecasting.
Drive online and offline sales channels to maximize revenue contribution from the region.

Territory & Account Management

Manage and grow sales across the designated territory: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & Goa.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, distributors, retailers, and institutional clients.
Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and pricing dynamics; provide timely market intelligence to the central team.
Identify new channel partners and onboard dealers/distributors to expand market reach.
Ensure consistent brand presence and visibility across all territory touchpoints.

Customer Outreach & Lead Management

Proactively engage in cold calls, digital outreach (LinkedIn, email), and in-person meetings to generate and qualify leads.
Coordinate with the marketing team for regional campaigns, promotional activities, and event participation.
Follow up diligently on leads generated through digital marketing, trade shows, referrals, and outbound outreach.
Convert inquiries into long-term revenue-generating accounts by delivering a compelling value proposition.

Reporting & Analytics

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports, territory reviews, and performance dashboards to the reporting manager.
Track key sales metrics including pipeline health, conversion rates, deal size, and customer acquisition cost.
Leverage CRM to maintain updated records of prospects, customers, and activities.
Provide structured feedback on product, pricing, and go-to-market strategies based on ground-level market insights.

Team & Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with the central marketing, product, and customer success teams to align regional execution with company strategy.
Coordinate with sales coordinators to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Participate in national sales meetings, training programs, and strategy workshops as required.
Mentor and support sales executives of channel partners in the region as the team scales.

Required Skills & Competencies

Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a field sales or regional sales role.
Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, customer behaviour, and competitor landscape.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in using CRM software, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and digital communication tools.
Strong networking ability to build relationships at all levels — from field teams to senior decision-makers.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 60–70% travel).
Language proficiency: English, Hindi & Marathi.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum qualification: Bachelor's Degree (any discipline).
An MBA or postgraduate diploma in sales/marketing will be an added advantage.
3–5 years of experience in regional / field sales, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or B2B products/services.
Prior experience managing multi-state territories is highly preferred.
Experience working with channel partners, distributors, or B2B enterprise accounts is desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

CTC: ₹60,000 – ₹70,000 per month (inclusive of home office allowance).
