Finance Head – Bakery Manufacturing

Job Title: Finance Head
Industry: Bakery Manufacturing / Food Manufacturing
Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: North Paravur,Kochi
Reporting To: Management / Managing Director

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Finance Head to manage the overall finance and accounting functions of our bakery manufacturing business. The person will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, controlling costs, monitoring inventory, ensuring statutory compliance and providing management with timely financial information for decision-making.

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of manufacturing accounting, product costing, inventory management, GST, TDS, payroll and MIS reporting.

Key Responsibilities1. Finance & Accounting

Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
Ensure proper recording and classification of all business transactions.
Monitor receivables, payables, cash flow and bank transactions.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
Maintain proper accounting controls and documentation.
Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks and other financial institutions.

2. Manufacturing Finance & Costing

Monitor raw material, packaging material, production and finished goods costs.
Prepare and maintain product-wise costing and standard costing.
Analyse material consumption, wastage, labour and production overheads.
Monitor actual cost against standard/budgeted cost.
Identify areas for cost reduction and improve production profitability.
Assist management in pricing decisions based on accurate product costing.

3. Inventory Management

Monitor stock of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and consumables.
Reconcile physical stock with accounting/inventory records.
Analyse stock variances, wastage, expiry and slow-moving items.
Coordinate with purchase, production and stores teams for proper inventory control.

4. GST & Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate GST, TDS and other applicable statutory compliances.
Review GST input tax credit, sales and purchase reconciliations.
Monitor TDS deductions, payments and return filing.
Coordinate with tax professionals for assessments, notices and other statutory matters.

5. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
Provide reports on:
Sales and gross margin
Product-wise profitability
Production cost
Raw material consumption
Inventory
Receivables and payables
Cash flow
Budget vs actual performance
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.

6. Budgeting & Financial Planning

Assist in preparing annual budgets and business plans.
Monitor actual performance against budgets.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and working-capital requirements.
Support management in evaluating new investments, machinery purchases and business expansion.

7. Team & Internal Controls

Supervise the accounts and finance team.
Establish proper accounting procedures and internal controls.
Ensure timely completion of accounting activities and month-end closing.
Train and guide accounting staff where required.

Educational Qualification

Preferred:

CA Inter
CMA Inter
B.Com
M.Com

Candidates with relevant experience in manufacturing finance/accounts will be preferred.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, FMCG or other manufacturing industries will be an advantage.
Candidates with strong practical knowledge and relevant experience may be considered irrespective of exact qualification.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Good understanding of manufacturing accounting and costing.
Practical knowledge of GST and TDS compliance.
Good Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas and MIS preparation.
Experience with Tally / Zoho Books / ERP or similar accounting software.
Analytical and problem-solving ability.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of finance operations.

Improvement in inventory and working-capital control.
Accurate product costing and margin analysis.
Reduction of unnecessary costs and wastage.
Timely submission of MIS reports.
