Job Description

As the Copy Director, you will lead the strategic and creative direction of all written communication across brands and campaigns. You will be responsible for building compelling narratives, defining brand voices, mentoring a high-performing team of copywriters, and ensuring every piece of communication meets the highest standards of creativity, clarity, and effectiveness.

Working closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Strategists, Account Managers, Digital Marketing teams, and clients, you will drive integrated campaigns that deliver measurable business impact while championing the adoption of AI-powered content workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the creative vision and copy strategy for integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, web, performance marketing, video, CRM, and brand communication.
Translate business objectives, customer insights, and brand strategy into compelling storytelling and impactful messaging.
Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Strategists, and Account Managers to develop integrated campaign concepts.
Conduct brand, audience, competitor, and market research to create differentiated communication strategies.
Define and maintain brand tone of voice, messaging frameworks, and editorial standards across multiple client portfolios.
Mentor, coach, and inspire a team of Senior Copywriters, Copywriters, and Content Creators while fostering a culture of creative excellence.
Lead brainstorming sessions and creative workshops to develop breakthrough campaign ideas.
Present campaign concepts, messaging strategies, and creative recommendations confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
Ensure consistency, quality, and strategic alignment across all written communication before final delivery.
Drive the adoption of AI-powered content creation and productivity tools while maintaining high editorial standards.
Partner with design, motion graphics, video production, UX/UI, and performance marketing teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Stay updated on emerging content trends, digital platforms, consumer behavior, and AI innovations to continuously elevate creative output.
Establish content quality benchmarks, review team performance, and contribute to talent development and succession planning.

Skills & Competencies

Exceptional copywriting and content strategy skills with the ability to craft compelling long-form and short-form content across digital, social media, websites, email, video, print, UX, SEO, and performance marketing.
Strong expertise in brand communication, messaging architecture, tone of voice development, storytelling, and integrated campaign development.
Proven ability to conceptualize and lead creative campaigns from insight to execution, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints.
Proficient in AI-powered content creation and creative tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, Copy.ai, Grammarly, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Canva AI, Synthesia, and Runway, with the ability to integrate AI into content and creative workflows.
Sound understanding of visual design principles and video production, enabling effective collaboration, creative direction, and quality review of design and multimedia assets.
Experience managing multiple brands, content calendars, and cross-functional creative projects in a fast-paced environment using tools such as Jira, Asana, Trello, ClickUp, Wrike, or Basecamp.
Strong presentation, stakeholder management, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a proactive, ownership-driven approach to delivering high-impact communication and content.

Profile Requirements

4-8 years of experience in copywriting, content strategy, or creative communication.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading creative or copy teams.
At least 4 years of experience working in an advertising, digital marketing, or integrated communications agency.
Proven experience building integrated campaigns for enterprise and consumer brands.
Strong portfolio showcasing brand campaigns, digital-first communication, integrated marketing, and strategic storytelling.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mass Communication, Advertising, Journalism, English Literature, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Experience working alongside design, performance marketing, social media, branding, and digital strategy teams.
Passion for mentoring creative talent, embracing AI-driven workflows, and delivering impactful brand communication.
