Job Description: Godown Supervisor / Store Executive (Pipes Division)

Position: Godown Supervisor / Store Executive
Location: Ernakulam
Department: Operations / Stores & Logistics
Reporting To: Operations Manager / Branch Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and organized Godown Supervisor to manage pipe inventory, loading and unloading operations, stock maintenance, and labour activities. The candidate will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate stock records, timely dispatches, and effective supervision of loading/unloading personnel.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Stock Management

Maintain accurate inventory records of pipes, fittings, and related materials.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess inventory.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure proper storage and stacking of materials to prevent damage.
Maintain inward and outward stock registers and system entries.

Loading & Unloading Operations

Supervise loading and unloading of pipes and related materials.
Ensure correct quantities and specifications are dispatched and received.
Coordinate vehicle movements for timely deliveries and receipts.
Minimize material handling damage during operations.
Verify delivery challans, invoices, and material receipt documents.

Labour Management

Allocate daily work to loading and unloading labourers.
Monitor labour productivity and attendance.
Ensure discipline, safety, and proper use of equipment within the godown.
Coordinate with contractors or labour suppliers when additional manpower is required.
Resolve day-to-day operational issues involving labour teams.

Safety & Housekeeping

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the godown.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures during material handling.
Monitor proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
Report accidents, damages, or operational concerns immediately.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with sales, logistics, and purchase departments for material movement.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock and dispatch reports.
Assist management in planning inventory requirements and storage optimization.

Qualifications

Minimum Plus Two / Diploma / Graduate.
2–5 years of experience in warehouse, store, godown, or logistics operations.
Experience in pipes, steel, building materials, or construction products is preferred.
Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, inventory software, ERP systems) is an advantage.

Skills Required

Inventory and stock management.
Labour handling and team supervision.
Documentation and record keeping.
Good organizational and coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet dispatch schedules.
Basic communication skills in Malayalam and English.

Compensation

Salary: As per experience and industry standards.
Additional benefits may include PF, ESI, bonus, and performance incentives.
