Full job description

Job Title: Operations Manager – RMC Plant

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising the complete day-to-day operations of the Ready-Mix Concrete plant. The role requires strong coordination, planning, and decision-making skills to ensure smooth production, timely dispatch, proper utilization of transit mixers, concrete pumps, plant machinery, manpower, and overall operational resources.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining dispatch scheduling, pump scheduling, deciding which Transit Mixer is to be loaded for which site, coordinating with batching plant operators, drivers, pump operators, site teams, billing/accounts, maintenance, and quality control departments. The objective of the role is to ensure timely supply of concrete to clients while maintaining operational efficiency, quality standards, cost control, and proper communication across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage daily dispatch schedules as per client requirements and site priorities.
Coordinate and schedule concrete pumps according to site demand, distance, pour quantity, and availability.
Decide and allocate Transit Mixers for loading based on site location, delivery sequence, truck availability, and operational urgency.
Monitor movement of all Transit Mixers from plant to site and ensure timely return for next loading.
Coordinate with batching plant operators for timely production and loading of concrete.
Ensure smooth communication between plant, dispatch team, drivers, pump operators, site supervisors, and clients.
Manage small and large operational activities of the RMC plant on a daily basis.
Ensure proper utilization of plant machinery, pumps, Transit Mixers, manpower, and other resources.
Monitor delays, breakdowns, site issues, traffic problems, and take quick corrective action.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repair and availability of Transit Mixers, pumps, batching plant, loaders, and other equipment.
Ensure that concrete is dispatched as per required grade, quantity, site address, and delivery schedule.
Coordinate with the quality/lab team to ensure proper mix compliance and cube/sample requirements.
Maintain discipline among drivers, operators, helpers, and operational staff.
Keep records of dispatches, pump deployment, truck movement, breakdowns, delays, and operational issues.
Coordinate with the billing/accounts team for dispatch documents, challans, weighment, and related paperwork.
Ensure that all safety and operational protocols are followed at the plant and during dispatch.
Handle client/site coordination for delivery timing, pump placement, unloading sequence, and operational concerns.
Report daily operational performance, pending issues, and resource requirements to management.
Identify areas for improving dispatch efficiency, reducing idle time, minimizing diesel wastage, and improving plant productivity.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of RMC plant operations.
Experience in dispatch planning and Transit Mixer management.
Ability to handle multiple sites, trucks, pumps, and manpower at the same time.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability during breakdowns, delays, and urgent site requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and take quick decisions.
Basic knowledge of concrete grades, batching process, pump operations, and site requirements.
Leadership skills to manage drivers, operators, helpers, and plant staff.

Preferred Experience

Candidate should preferably have prior experience in RMC plant operations, dispatch management, pump scheduling, fleet coordination, or construction material supply operations.

Job Nature

This is a full-time operational role requiring active involvement at the plant, continuous coordination with field teams, and responsibility for ensuring smooth and timely execution of all RMC dispatch and plant operations.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
