IT Team Leader – Remote Academies

Job Purpose
The IT Team Leader shall be responsible for planning, supervising, and managing the IT infrastructure and support operations across assigned academies. The role includes leading the IT support team, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, networks, internet services, CCTV surveillance systems, smart classrooms, Linux servers, intercom systems, and other technology resources. The IT Team Leader shall also be responsible for project implementation, preventive maintenance, budgeting, vendor coordination, and compliance with organizational IT policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership and Supervision
- Lead and supervise IT Technicians assigned to academies.
- Allocate work and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
- Review performance and productivity of team members.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Conduct periodic team meetings and technical training sessions.
- Ensure discipline, accountability, and service quality within the team.
2. IT Infrastructure Management
- Ensure smooth functioning of all IT infrastructure across assigned academies.
- Monitor the operational status of:
- Computers and Laptops
- Computer Laboratories
- Printers and Scanners
- Smart Classrooms
- Network Infrastructure
- Internet Connectivity
- CCTV Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Biometric Devices
- Linux and Windows Servers
- UPS and Power Backup Systems
- Recommend infrastructure improvements and technology upgrades.
3. Network and Internet Management
- Monitor network performance and internet uptime.
- Ensure proper maintenance of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and structured cabling infrastructure.
- Coordinate with ISPs for fault resolution and service upgrades.
- Review network security and access controls.
- Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
4. Linux and Server Administration
- Supervise installation, maintenance, and monitoring of Linux and Windows servers.
- Ensure proper backup and recovery mechanisms are implemented.
- Monitor server security, updates, and system performance.
- Support web servers, database servers, application servers, and file servers.
- Plan server upgrades and capacity expansion.
5. CCTV and Security Systems
- Ensure proper functioning of CCTV surveillance systems across academies.
- Review camera coverage, recording quality, and storage retention.
- Plan CCTV expansion and upgradation projects.
- Ensure compliance with organizational CCTV policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate installation, maintenance, and replacement of surveillance equipment.
6. Smart Class and Digital Learning Infrastructure
- Monitor the operational status of Smart Class equipment.
- Plan installation and deployment of digital learning infrastructure.
- Coordinate vendor support and warranty services.
- Ensure availability of digital teaching resources.
7. Computer Lab Management
- Ensure all computer laboratories remain operational and adequately maintained.
- Review hardware, software, and networking requirements.
- Plan upgrades and replacement of obsolete systems.
- Verify compliance with academic software requirements.
8. Intercom and Communication Systems
- Supervise maintenance of intercom, EPABX, and communication systems.
- Ensure uninterrupted communication services within academies.
- Plan expansion and modernization of communication infrastructure.
9. Project Planning and Implementation
- Plan and execute IT infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical specifications and Bills of Quantity (BOQs).
- Coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project timelines, quality, and budgets.
- Submit project status reports to management.
10. Asset and Inventory Management
- Ensure accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
- Review asset allocation and utilization.
- Verify physical asset audits conducted by IT Technicians.
- Plan replacement and disposal of obsolete equipment.
11. Procurement and Vendor Coordination
- Prepare technical specifications for procurement.
- Evaluate products, vendors, and proposed solutions.
- Assist the Purchase Department in technical evaluation.
- Monitor warranty claims and vendor performance.
- Recommend cost-effective technology solutions.
12. Preventive Maintenance Management
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor completion of maintenance activities by IT Technicians.
- Review maintenance reports and identify recurring issues.
- Ensure timely replacement of faulty equipment.
13. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain and review documentation related to:
- Network Infrastructure
- Server Infrastructure
- CCTV Systems
- Computer Laboratories
- Smart Classrooms
- Intercom Systems
- IT Assets
- Preventive Maintenance
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Head of IT Department.
- Prepare technical proposals, project reports, and budget estimates.
14. Information Security and Compliance
- Ensure implementation of IT policies and security standards.
- Monitor access controls, system security, and data protection measures.
- Coordinate backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Investigate and report security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
15. User Support and Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with Principals, Administrators, and Department Heads regarding IT requirements.
- Ensure timely resolution of escalated complaints.
- Provide technical support during inspections, examinations, admissions, and major events.
- Maintain positive working relationships with academy management.

Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support and administration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Experience in educational institutions and multi-location IT support shall be preferred.

Authority
The IT Team Leader is authorized to assign work to IT Technicians, approve routine technical activities, recommend procurement and infrastructure upgrades, verify project completion, and escalate matters requiring management approval. The IT Team Leader shall be responsible for ensuring that all IT operations are carried out in accordance with approved policies, standards, and budgets.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
