B2B SALES MANAGER – PRECISION PRODUCT MANUFACTURING

Location: Nashik, Maharashtra
Department: Sales & Business Development
Reporting To: Business Head / Director
Experience: 5–10 years
Travel: Approximately 12 days per month
Industry: Precision Engineering / Product Manufacturing

Job Purpose

To drive B2B sales and business development for precision-manufactured products through strong technical understanding, solution selling, new customer acquisition, key account management and market development.

This is a technical sales role requiring the candidate to independently understand customer requirements, participate in technical discussions and convert technical opportunities into business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new B2B customers across industrial, engineering, automotive, OEM and allied manufacturing sectors.
Identify new markets, customers and business opportunities through market mapping, references, exhibitions, customer visits and networking.
Manage existing customers and increase repeat business, customer retention and share of business.
Understand engineering drawings, product specifications, tolerances, materials, manufacturing processes, machining processes and customer application requirements.
Independently participate in technical discussions with customer Purchase, Engineering, Design, Quality and Production teams.
Understand customer technical requirements and coordinate with internal Design, Production and Quality teams to develop appropriate solutions.
Identify opportunities for product development, alternate applications and value-added solutions.
Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial and technical terms and convert enquiries into orders.
Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate monthly/quarterly sales forecasts.
Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales, order booking and margin targets.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores and Dispatch to ensure customer commitments are met.
Handle customer complaints and coordinate internally for effective and timely resolution.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, market trends and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate customer, enquiry, quotation and order data.
Follow up on payments and support the company in maintaining healthy receivables.
Build long-term relationships with decision-makers and technical teams at customer organizations.

Mandatory Technical Capability

The candidate should be an extremely technically oriented sales professional, not a conventional relationship-based salesperson.

He should be capable of:

Reading and understanding engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Understanding GD&T, tolerances, materials and manufacturing processes.
Understanding precision machining/component manufacturing and related quality requirements.
Having meaningful technical discussions with Engineers, Purchase Heads, Quality Heads and Plant/Production teams.
Understanding customer applications and recommending technically suitable solutions.
Translating customer requirements into clear inputs for internal technical and production teams.
Supporting technical negotiations along with commercial negotiations.
Identifying technically feasible opportunities rather than merely generating enquiries.

Field Travel Requirement

Extensive customer-facing travel is an essential part of this position.

Expected travel: approximately 12 days per month.
Travel will include customer visits, new business development, technical discussions, enquiry follow-ups, negotiations and market development.
Candidate should be comfortable travelling independently across Maharashtra and other industrial markets, as required.
The candidate must have a strong field-sales orientation and should not be looking for a predominantly office-based sales role.

Candidate Profile

Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Industrial Engineering preferred.
MBA in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
5–10 years of B2B technical sales experience in precision engineering, machined components, auto components, industrial products, engineering products or similar manufacturing industries.
Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial products.
Proven ability to generate new business independently.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
Excellent customer-facing and presentation skills.
Strong follow-up and execution discipline.
Willingness to undertake approximately 12 days of field travel every month.
Should be highly target-oriented, proactive and comfortable working in a growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
