We are currently hiring for the open position below for our Bengaluru location.

Designation: Cluster School Operations Manager
Department: School Operations
Reporting To: Business Head

Location: Edunation Services Pvt. Ltd.
Experience: 8–12 years, preferably in K–12/CBSE school operations
Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate; MBA/PGDM in Operations/Management preferred

Job Purpose

The Cluster School Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall operational excellence, administration, compliance, infrastructure, safety, and support functions across a cluster of CBSE schools. The role will ensure that all schools operate efficiently, consistently, safely, and in accordance with CBSE, statutory, organizational, and quality standards.

The position will work closely with School Principals, Admin Managers, HR, Finance, Admissions, Transport, Security, IT, Facilities, and central functions to ensure seamless school operations and an excellent experience for students, parents, employees, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cluster Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day operational functioning of multiple CBSE schools within the assigned cluster.
Establish standardized operating processes across schools.
Monitor operational KPIs, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
Conduct regular school visits and operational audits.
Ensure timely resolution of operational issues and escalations.
Coordinate with Principals and School Operations/Admin teams to maintain smooth functioning.

2. Administration & Infrastructure

Ensure effective management of school infrastructure, facilities, housekeeping, security, maintenance, and utilities.
Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, playgrounds, and common areas.
Ensure adequate availability of essential supplies, equipment, furniture, and consumables.
Review vendor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.
Monitor housekeeping standards, hygiene, cleanliness, and overall campus presentation.

3. CBSE & Statutory Compliance

Ensure schools comply with applicable CBSE norms, state regulations, local statutory requirements, and organizational policies.
Maintain and monitor statutory records, licenses, certificates, agreements, and renewals.
Coordinate documentation and preparedness for CBSE inspections, audits, and regulatory visits.
Ensure compliance related to fire safety, building safety, sanitation, transportation, security, and other applicable requirements.
Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure timely closure of compliance actions.

4. Health, Safety & Security

Implement robust school safety and security protocols.
Ensure fire safety systems, emergency exits, evacuation plans, CCTV, access control, and security systems are operational.
Conduct periodic safety audits and mock drills.
Ensure appropriate protocols for student and employee emergencies.
Monitor security guards, transport staff, housekeeping teams, and other outsourced personnel.
Drive a strong culture of safety across all schools.

5. Transport Operations

Oversee school transportation operations across the cluster.
Ensure compliance with applicable transport and student safety requirements.
Monitor vehicle fitness, permits, insurance, GPS, route plans, and documentation.
Review transport vendor performance and student/parent feedback.
Ensure appropriate processes for student boarding, alighting, attendance, and emergency situations.

6. Vendor & Contract Management

Manage key operational vendors and service providers across the cluster.
Ensure vendor onboarding, contracts, SLAs, performance reviews, and renewals.
Monitor vendor costs and service quality.
Negotiate with vendors wherever required and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance of outsourced manpower.

7. Budget & Cost Management

Prepare and monitor the operational budget for the assigned schools.
Control operational expenses without compromising safety or service quality.
Track expenditure against approved budgets.
Identify cost-saving and process-efficiency opportunities.
Ensure appropriate approvals and financial controls for operational expenses.

8. People & Team Management

Lead and mentor School Admin Managers and operational teams across the cluster.
Define responsibilities, KRAs, and performance expectations.
Review team performance and productivity.
Identify training and capability-building requirements.
Ensure adequate manpower for critical operational functions.
Promote accountability, discipline, teamwork, and service orientation.

9. Coordination with Principals

Partner closely with School Principals to understand operational requirements and priorities.
Support Principals in resolving complex administrative and infrastructure issues.
Provide regular operational dashboards and reports to leadership.
Ensure operational decisions are aligned with the school's academic and strategic priorities.

10. Parent & Stakeholder Experience

Ensure operational processes support a positive parent and student experience.
Monitor and resolve operational complaints and escalations.
Coordinate with Admissions, Front Office, Transport, Security, and other teams to improve service delivery.
Identify recurring concerns and implement preventive measures.

11. Process Excellence

Develop, implement, and periodically review SOPs for school operations.
Standardize operational processes across the cluster.
Conduct periodic audits and compliance checks.
Identify operational risks and establish mitigation plans.
Drive continuous improvement and digitization of operational processes.

Preferred Experience

Experience in CBSE/K–12 school operations preferred.
Experience managing multiple schools or multi-location operations will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of school administration, statutory compliance, facilities, safety, transport, and vendor management.
Experience working with Principals and senior school leadership.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and operational escalations
