Location: Kolkata, West Bengal
Work Mode: Full-time, in-office
Experience: 1–3 years preferred
About the Role
We’re looking for a Graphic Designer who genuinely loves design — someone who notices details others miss, understands visual balance, and believes good design should feel intentional, clean, and emotionally aligned.
At Framed, design is not decoration. It is storytelling, communication, and visual identity.
From luxury wedding albums and campaign creatives to Instagram stories, carousels, pitch decks, posters, thumbnails, and branded communication, every visual we create reflects our aesthetic philosophy and brand language.
You’ll work closely with photographers, filmmakers, editors, social media teams, and creative leads to design visuals that feel refined, thoughtful, and aligned with Framed’s three verticals.
This role is for someone who can balance creativity with discipline — someone who can make beautiful designs, follow brand systems, take feedback, and deliver consistently.
About Framed
Framed is a Kolkata-based photography and videography company founded in 2014.
What began as a boutique wedding storytelling company has evolved into multiple creative verticals spanning weddings, branded content, and studio portraiture.
Our brands include:
Framed Memoirs — Emotion-driven wedding storytelling
Framed Productions — Commercial films, campaigns, and branded content
Framed Studio — Portraits, maternity, family, and lifestyle shoots
We’re a close-knit team of visual storytellers, designers, filmmakers, photographers, editors, and creators who care deeply about aesthetics, emotion, detail, originality, and meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Visual Design & Brand Communication
- Design luxury wedding albums and photo books that feel elegant, immersive, and timeless.
- Create social media creatives including posts, stories, carousels, thumbnails, reel covers, and campaign assets.
- Design posters, presentations, pitch decks, proposals, and promotional material across digital and print platforms.
- Maintain visual consistency across all Framed brands and communication touchpoints.
- Understand the difference between the visual language of Framed Memoirs, Framed Productions, and Framed Studio.
- Contribute to improving Framed’s visual identity, design templates, and creative presentation standards.
2. Social Media & Campaign Design
- Create Instagram-first designs for stories, carousels, reel covers, and campaign announcements.
- Design visuals that support storytelling, not just decoration.
- Understand how layout, text hierarchy, image choice, and pacing work in a carousel or story sequence.
- Adapt designs for different formats, ratios, and platforms.
- Collaborate with the social media team to convert ideas into strong visual assets.
- Maintain consistency while still allowing each campaign or brand to have its own mood.
3. Album & Print Design
- Design wedding albums and photo books with strong layout sense, emotional flow, and clean sequencing.
- Balance images, whitespace, typography, and page rhythm thoughtfully.
- Prepare print-ready files as per album vendor specifications.
- Coordinate corrections and changes in album layouts when required.
- Ensure final album designs feel premium, timeless, and aligned with Framed Memoirs’ storytelling style.
4. Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with photographers, editors, marketers, and founders to translate ideas into compelling visuals.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaigns, social media, albums, and brand communication.
- Understand briefs clearly before beginning design work.
- Ask the right questions when the brief is unclear.
- Take feedback positively and revise designs with attention to detail.
- Assist in developing visual guidelines, templates, and scalable design systems.
5. Design Execution & Quality Control
- Ensure all deliverables maintain high aesthetic and technical standards.
- Balance typography, layout, spacing, composition, colour, and image selection thoughtfully.
- Check all creatives for alignment, spelling, grammar, export quality, resolution, and format accuracy before sharing.
- Organise design files, source files, exports, fonts, and assets properly.
- Maintain efficient workflows for collaboration and future reference.
- Stay updated with design trends, tools, AI-assisted workflows, and visual culture.
Creative Skills Required
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, spacing, colour, composition, and hierarchy.
- Good visual taste and attention to detail.
- Ability to design with restraint, clarity, and emotional sensitivity.
- Understanding of luxury, lifestyle, wedding, and brand communication aesthetics.
- Ability to create designs that feel premium without becoming cluttered.
- Good image selection judgement.
- Ability to translate a written idea or campaign concept into a visual format.
- Understanding of social media formats, especially Instagram stories, carousels, and reel covers.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or similar design tools.
- Ability to create print-ready and digital-ready files.
- Understanding of image resolution, aspect ratios, export formats, and file sizes.
- Ability to work with templates and brand guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of presentation design and layout.
- Good file organisation and naming discipline.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools is a must.
Work Discipline Expected
At Framed, design quality and workflow discipline are equally important.
You will be expected to:
- Follow internal design systems, templates, and brand guidelines.
- Maintain organised folders, working files, exports, and source files.
- Respect timelines and delivery commitments.
- Update task status regularly on the company’s project management system.
- Take feedback positively and implement changes accurately.
- Avoid careless mistakes in spelling, alignment, exports, sizes, and final files.
- Ask questions when a brief is unclear instead of assuming.
- Maintain confidentiality of client images, designs, and internal brand material.
- Take ownership of assigned work without repeated follow-ups.
Bonus If You
- Have experience in photography, wedding, fashion, luxury, lifestyle, or creative industries.
- Understand emotionally driven visual storytelling.
- Have experience designing premium albums or print layouts.
- Have experience creating social media carousels and story campaigns.
- Have worked on pitch decks, proposals, or brand presentations.
- Experiment with AI-assisted design tools and workflows.
- Have basic knowledge of motion graphics or simple animated creatives.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who:
- Enjoys design as a craft, not just software work.
- Has a clean, refined, and detail-oriented visual sense.
- Can balance creativity with structure and deadlines.
- Understands that good design is often about what to remove, not just what to add.
- Can adapt to different brand languages.
- Takes feedback well and improves with every project.
- Is organised with files, versions, exports, and timelines.
- Wants to grow in a storytelling-driven creative company.
- Can work across albums, social media, decks, proposals, and campaign designs.
