General Manager – Operations & Sales

About the Role

Megabase Infratech Private Limited is looking for an experienced and result-oriented General Manager – Operations & Sales to take ownership of the company’s day-to-day business operations, sales activities, team performance and overall business growth.

The person will act as a key management-level point of contact between the management, sales team, operations team, clients, vendors and project teams.

This is a leadership role where the candidate will be responsible for monitoring daily activities, driving sales, improving operational efficiency, tracking targets, solving business-level issues and providing management with clear answers and actionable updates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

* Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.

* Generate and convert new business opportunities across construction and infrastructure services.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, channel partners and business associates.

* Monitor the complete sales pipeline from lead generation to negotiation, closure and payment follow-up.

* Set monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the team.

* Review sales performance on a daily and weekly basis.

* Identify new markets, customer segments and business opportunities.

* Ensure timely follow-up on all major leads, proposals and enquiries.

* Participate in important client meetings and negotiations whenever required.

2. Operations Management

* Take overall responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operational activities.

* Monitor ongoing projects, business activities, teams and critical deliverables.

* Ensure work is progressing according to planned timelines and company standards.

* Coordinate between management, sales, project, accounts, procurement, vendors and other departments.

* Identify operational problems and ensure timely resolution.

* Establish proper systems, processes and reporting mechanisms across departments.

* Ensure that important tasks are assigned, tracked and completed on time.

3. Daily Monitoring & Management Reporting

* Conduct regular reviews of sales and operational activities.

* Maintain daily/weekly/monthly performance reports.

* Track leads, meetings, proposals, closures, collections, project progress and pending activities.

* Provide management with clear updates on what is happening across the business.

* Highlight delays, risks, opportunities and critical issues before they become major problems.

* Be accountable for providing management with accurate answers and status updates on business activities.

4. Team Management

* Lead, supervise and motivate sales and operational teams.

* Set clear targets and responsibilities for team members.

* Monitor individual and departmental performance.

* Conduct regular performance reviews.

* Improve team productivity and accountability.

* Recruit or recommend suitable resources whenever additional manpower is required.

* Build a professional, performance-driven working culture.

5. Business Growth & Strategy

* Work closely with senior management to develop the company’s growth strategy.

* Identify new revenue streams and expansion opportunities.

* Study market trends, competitors and customer requirements.

* Recommend new services, markets and business opportunities.

* Develop short-term and long-term operational and sales plans.

* Convert management objectives into practical execution plans.

6. Construction & Project Business Coordination

* Understand the complete business cycle of construction and infrastructure projects.

* Coordinate with project and execution teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment.

* Monitor project-related commercial commitments, timelines and client requirements.

* Ensure smooth coordination between sales commitments and actual project execution.

* Support management in major negotiations, contracts and business decisions.

7. Client & Business Relationship Management

* Maintain relationships with key clients and strategic partners.

* Handle escalated client concerns and ensure proper resolution.

* Ensure professional communication throughout the sales and project lifecycle.

* Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat and referral business.

8. Process & Performance Improvement

* Identify gaps in existing business processes.

* Introduce better systems for lead tracking, reporting, team management and operational control.

* Use data and performance reports to improve decision-making.

* Ensure accountability across departments.

* Continuously look for ways to improve productivity, profitability and execution.

What We Expect From This Role

The selected candidate should be someone who can take ownership rather than simply follow instructions.

The GM will be expected to understand what is happening across the business, identify problems independently, coordinate with the concerned teams, find solutions and report the actual status to management.

The person should be comfortable handling both sales and operations and should have the maturity to make day-to-day business decisions within the authority given by management.

The performance of the GM will primarily be evaluated on:

Candidate Profile

Required:

* 8–15 years of relevant professional experience.

* Strong experience in sales, business development and operations management.

* Experience in construction, real estate, infrastructure, interiors, turnkey projects or related industries will be preferred.

* Strong leadership and team-management skills.

* Excellent communication, negotiation and client-handling abilities.

* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

* Ability to manage multiple departments and priorities simultaneously.

* Strong understanding of business targets, profitability and operational processes.

* Comfortable with daily reporting, MIS and performance tracking.

Ideal Candidate
