About Scholed

Scholed is an online coaching platform based in Kerala, providing video classes, live sessions, and expert academic guidance for NIOS Plus Two and UG Degree programs, including distance and open university programs such as SGOU.

We are building a high-performance, telecalling-led sales team to help students across Kerala and beyond make informed decisions about open schooling and distance education.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager – Telesales to lead and manage a team of 10–20 Business Development Executives (BDEs) responsible for counselling prospective students and converting inquiries into enrollments.

This is a 100% phone-based sales role and does not involve field sales. The Sales Manager will be responsible for overall team performance, enrollment targets, sales processes, coaching, reporting, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in telesales team management, preferably within the education, distance education, open schooling, admissions, or ed-tech sector.

Key Responsibilities

* Own the sales strategy and enrollment targets for a team of 10–20 telesales BDEs.

* Lead, mentor, motivate, and performance-manage the sales team.

* Recruit, onboard, and train new Business Development Executives.

* Set and drive daily, weekly, and monthly enrollment targets.

* Monitor individual and team performance against defined KPIs and sales targets.

* Track call volumes, lead follow-ups, conversion rates, revenue, and enrollment performance.

* Conduct regular call audits and provide coaching on sales pitches, counselling quality, objection handling, follow-ups, and closing techniques.

* Ensure BDEs provide accurate, ethical, and student-friendly counselling throughout the admission process.

* Work closely with the Marketing team to improve lead quality, lead flow, and campaign performance.

* Develop and maintain sales reports and performance dashboards for management review.

* Identify performance gaps and take timely corrective action.

* Handle escalated leads and personally support high-value or difficult conversions when required.

* Implement processes and strategies to improve conversion rates, productivity, and overall sales efficiency.

* Ensure sales incentives are applied fairly and consistently based on defined target-achievement criteria across all regions and territories.

* Maintain team morale and performance during high-pressure, target-driven periods.

* Collaborate with senior management on sales strategy, forecasting, and business growth.

Required Qualifications & Experience

* 5–6 years of experience in telesales/inside sales, with significant experience managing a sales or telecalling team.

* Proven experience managing a team of approximately 10–20 sales executives/counsellors.

* Prior experience in the education sector is mandatory.

* Experience in distance education, open schooling, NIOS, degree admissions, ed-tech, or education counselling is highly preferred.

* Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

* Strong understanding of lead management, follow-up, conversion, and telesales processes.

* Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and people-management skills.

* Ability to train and coach sales counsellors to engage students effectively and empathetically.

* Experience working with CRM, dialer, lead management, and sales reporting systems.

* Strong analytical and data-driven approach to team performance.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

* Knowledge of NIOS and open schooling programs.

* Familiarity with distance/open university degree programs, including SGOU.

* Experience in student counselling and education admissions.

* Strong knowledge of telesales KPIs and performance metrics.

* Experience in designing sales processes and improving conversion rates.

* Bachelor's degree in any discipline; an education-related background is an advantage.

The Sales Manager will be evaluated based on:

* Team enrollment and revenue targets

* Lead-to-enrollment conversion rate

* Individual BDE performance

* Call volume and follow-up efficiency

* Lead response and closure rate

* Sales productivity

* Team retention and performance improvement

* Quality of student counselling and call audits

Compensation & Incentives

* Fixed Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience, skills, and proven sales track record.

* Performance Incentives: Additional incentives linked to achievement of defined sales and enrollment targets.

* Target Achievement: Full incentive payout will be applicable upon achieving 100% of the defined target, subject to the company's incentive policy.

* Incentive criteria will be applied consistently across all applicable operating areas and territories.
