HR & Payroll Executive

21DEGREES Advisory Services is a fast-growing Business Operations and Virtual CFO company that partners with startups, SMEs, and growing businesses to manage their finance, compliance, payroll, accounting, taxation, and business operations.

We believe in building systems, processes, and high-performing teams. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an HR professional who can not only build and manage our internal people operations but also manage payroll operations for our clients with accuracy and professionalism.

Position Overview

The HR & Payroll Executive will be responsible for managing two critical functions:

Internal Human Resource Management for 21DEGREES
Client Payroll Processing and Compliance

This role requires someone who enjoys working with people while maintaining strong attention to detail and process discipline. The ideal candidate should be comfortable interacting with employees, clients, and government portals while ensuring complete confidentiality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

A. Internal HR Operations

Manage end-to-end recruitment process
Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
Source candidates through job portals and social media
Maintain employee database and HR records
Prepare offer letters, appointment letters, confirmation letters and experience letters
Manage employee onboarding and exit formalities
Conduct employee induction programs
Maintain attendance and leave records
Coordinate employee engagement initiatives
Handle employee grievances professionally
Maintain HR policies and employee handbook
Support performance appraisal process
Maintain confidential employee documentation
Coordinate background verification
Ensure statutory HR compliance documentation

B. Client Payroll Management

Handle payroll for multiple client organizations, including:

Monthly payroll processing
Salary computation
Payroll validation
Preparation of salary sheets
Leave and attendance reconciliation
Overtime and incentive calculations
Full & Final settlement
Payroll MIS reports
Salary register preparation
Payslip generation
Payroll reconciliations
Coordination with client HR teams

C. Payroll Compliance

EPF calculations and filings
ESIC processing
Professional Tax compliance (where applicable)
Labour Welfare Fund compliance
TDS on salaries
Form 16 coordination
Payroll-related statutory reporting
Maintain payroll documentation
Coordinate statutory audits relating to payroll

D. Client Communication

Coordinate with client HR teams
Collect monthly payroll inputs
Resolve payroll-related queries
Maintain payroll calendars
Ensure SLA adherence
Prepare payroll reports for clients
Maintain complete confidentiality of employee information

E. Process Improvement

Develop payroll SOPs
Standardize HR processes
Improve HR documentation
Build HR templates and trackers
Suggest automation opportunities
Maintain knowledge repository

Preferred Qualifications

MBA (HR) / PGDM (HR)
B.Com / M.Com with Payroll experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration or related field

Experience

2–5 years in HR and Payroll
Experience handling payroll for multiple companies is preferred
Experience in HR operations within a CA firm, consulting firm, payroll outsourcing company, or professional services organization will be an added advantage
