Full job description

We are looking for a highly driven, execution-focused Executive Director who can work closely with the Founder and leadership team to drive the company’s strategic and operational priorities.

This is not a conventional administrative or corporate position. The Executive Director will function as a key leadership partner, converting business vision into measurable outcomes, coordinating execution across departments, solving complex problems, and ensuring accountability throughout the organisation.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities may evolve quickly. This position is suited to a builder who values ownership, leadership responsibility, business impact, and the opportunity to play a central role in scaling an organisation.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Execution

Translate the Founder’s vision and company objectives into actionable business plans.
Lead the execution of strategic initiatives across departments.
Define measurable goals, timelines, responsibilities, and expected outcomes.
Independently manage high-priority and business-critical projects.
Identify growth opportunities and support long-term business planning.

Organisational Leadership

Work closely with department heads to maintain alignment with company priorities.
Coordinate activities across operations, technology, sales, marketing, finance, and other functions.
Ensure that leadership decisions are communicated and implemented effectively.
Build a culture of accountability, discipline, collaboration, and performance.
Support the development of organisational structures, processes, and leadership capabilities.

Business Performance and Accountability

Monitor departmental performance, project progress, and key business metrics.
Conduct regular reviews with department heads and project owners.
Identify delays, inefficiencies, and execution gaps.
Implement corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Hold stakeholders accountable for agreed commitments, deadlines, and deliverables.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making

Anticipate operational and strategic challenges before they escalate.
Analyse complex business problems and recommend practical solutions.
Make informed decisions using data, business judgment, and organisational priorities.
Take ownership of outcomes instead of merely coordinating tasks.
Resolve cross-functional conflicts and remove execution bottlenecks.

Founder and Board Support

Act as a trusted leadership partner to the Founder.
Provide regular updates on business performance, risks, priorities, and opportunities.
Prepare reports, presentations, reviews, and strategic recommendations.
Support important business meetings, partnerships, negotiations, and leadership discussions.
Handle confidential and sensitive business information with complete discretion.

Flexibility and Responsiveness

Respond quickly to urgent and business-critical priorities.
Adapt to changing market conditions, company requirements, and strategic priorities.
Remain composed and solution-oriented during high-pressure situations.
Be available beyond standard working hours when genuinely required for critical business matters.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Operations, Technology, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience in business leadership, strategy, operations, consulting, startup management, or a similar role.
Proven experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of business operations, performance management, and organisational execution.
Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong business judgment and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Experience working in a startup, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or high-growth organisation will be preferred.
