JOB DESCRIPTION – MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Position: Marketing Executive
Department: Sales & Marketing
Experience: 3–5 Years
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month
Job Type: Full-Time

1. Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Marketing Executive will be to generate new business for the company’s FTL (Full Truck Load) and Part Load (PL) services, acquire new customers, develop existing customer relationships, and consistently increase sales and booking volumes.

The candidate should have good knowledge of the logistics/transportation industry and strong skills in B2B sales, lead generation, customer acquisition, follow-up, negotiation, and relationship management.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. New Customer Acquisition

Identify and develop new potential customers and business opportunities.
Contact prospective customers through calls, meetings, visits, email, and other communication channels.
Generate new leads for FTL and Part Load services.
Explain company services, routes, rates, transit capabilities, and service benefits to prospective customers.
Coordinate with the concerned team for quotations and pricing.
Follow up with prospects and convert enquiries into confirmed business/bookings.

B. Existing Customer Management

Maintain regular communication with existing customers.
Develop strong and long-term customer relationships.
Generate repeat business from existing customers.
Understand customer requirements, feedback, and service expectations.
Coordinate with the operations team to resolve customer issues and complaints.
Identify opportunities to increase business volume from existing customers.

C. FTL Business Development

Identify FTL requirements from companies, manufacturers, distributors, traders, and other B2B customers.
Generate regular FTL enquiries for different routes.
Coordinate for FTL quotations and rate negotiations.
Follow up on FTL enquiries and convert them into bookings.
Focus on increasing monthly FTL booking volume and revenue.

D. Part Load Business Development

Identify customers with regular Part Load shipment requirements.
Generate new Part Load enquiries and business opportunities.
Explain available Part Load services, routes, transit time, and pricing to customers.
Develop regular Part Load customers.
Increase monthly Part Load shipment volume and revenue.

E. Market Research

Keep updated with prevailing transportation and freight rates.
Monitor competitor services, pricing, and market activities.
Identify new routes, industries, and business opportunities.
Prepare and maintain a database of potential customers.
Track market trends and customer requirements.

F. Lead Follow-up & Sales Conversion

Maintain systematic follow-up with all leads and enquiries.
Coordinate internally for quotations and service requirements.
Follow up on pending quotations and proposals.
Maintain proper records of enquiries, quotations, and conversions.
Analyse lost leads and make efforts to recover potential business.
Focus on improving enquiry-to-booking conversion.

3. Daily Responsibilities

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for:

Generating new leads every day.
Making customer calls and follow-ups.
Visiting prospective and existing customers.
Collecting new enquiries.
Coordinating with the internal team for quotations.
Following up on pending quotations.
Converting enquiries into bookings.
Generating repeat business from existing customers.
Maintaining daily sales/activity reports.

4. Monthly Responsibilities

Achieve assigned monthly sales/booking targets.
Acquire new customers every month.
Increase business volume from existing customers.
Generate regular FTL and Part Load enquiries.
Improve customer retention and repeat business.
Submit weekly and monthly sales performance reports to management.

5. Required Skills

The candidate should have:

Excellent communication skills
Strong sales and negotiation skills
Good customer relationship management skills
Strong lead generation and follow-up abilities
Knowledge of logistics and transportation
Understanding of freight rates and market conditions
Basic knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets
Good email and WhatsApp communication skills
Target-oriented approach
Strong problem-solving ability
Good coordination and teamwork skills

6. Educational Qualification

Minimum Qualification: Graduate

Preferred:

MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing
Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Transportation
Relevant experience in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development

7. Experience

3–5 years of relevant experience in:

Logistics / Transportation
Freight Forwarding
FTL / Part Load
B2B Sales
Corporate Sales
Business Development

Candidates having an existing customer network in the logistics/transportation industry will be preferred.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The candidate’s performance will be evaluated based on:

Number of new customers acquired
Number of new leads generated
Enquiry-to-booking conversion ratio
Monthly FTL booking volume
Monthly Part Load booking volume
Revenue generated
Existing customer retention
Repeat business generated
Customer meetings and visits
Overall sales performance

9. Reporting

Reporting To: Sales/Branch Manager / Management

The candidate will be required to maintain:

Daily Lead Report
Customer Follow-up Report
Enquiry Report
Quotation Report
Booking Conversion Report
New Customer Report
Weekly Sales Report
Monthly Sales Performance Report

10. Salary & Benefits

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month
