Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Import-Export, E-commerce & Business Development Executive based in Mumbai. The selected candidate will support the backend operations and business development activities of our Indian and USA-based companies.

The candidate must have practical knowledge of import-export procedures and experience generating international business leads. The primary focus will be identifying buyers, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and business partners for FMCG products, agricultural food products, healthy snacks, and halal meat products exported from India.

The role also involves supporting e-commerce operations, maintaining business data, conducting market research, communicating with prospective customers, and coordinating with teams in India and the USA.

Key Responsibilities

Research and generate qualified B2B leads in India, the USA, and other international markets.
Identify importers, distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, grocery stores, food-service companies, retailers, and e-commerce partners.
Generate export leads for Indian FMCG products, agricultural food products, healthy snacks, and halal meat products.
Research international markets, buyer requirements, product demand, competitors, pricing, and potential sales opportunities.
Use B2B platforms, trade directories, LinkedIn, government export portals, and other sources to identify prospective buyers.
Contact potential customers through email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, telephone, and online business platforms.
Prepare professional introduction emails, follow-up messages, company profiles, quotations, and business proposals.
Conduct regular follow-ups with potential buyers and move qualified leads through the sales process.
Maintain accurate records of prospects, decision-makers, communication history, and follow-up status in Excel, Google Sheets, or CRM software.
Assist with import-export documentation, shipment coordination, supplier communication, and order follow-ups.
Coordinate with manufacturers, exporters, logistics providers, customs brokers, distributors, and customers when required.
Assist in setting up and managing products on Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, Shopify, and other e-commerce platforms.
Organize product descriptions, pricing, images, inventory information, and listing requirements.
Coordinate with management, accounting, logistics, suppliers, and business partners in India and the USA.
Prepare weekly reports covering leads generated, customer responses, follow-ups, quotations, and business opportunities.
Support general backend administration, documentation, online research, and business data organization.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company, supplier, customer, product, and pricing information.

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years of total professional experience.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in lead generation, business development, import-export, international sales, or e-commerce.
Practical knowledge of Indian export procedures and international trade.
Understanding of export documentation, Incoterms, logistics, shipping, customs, and payment terms.
Experience generating international buyers and export leads.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to prepare professional emails, proposals, quotations, and follow-up messages.
Strong online research, data collection, and market-analysis skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, and CRM software.
Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms and online marketplaces.
Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines remotely.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, honesty, and confidentiality.
A personal computer, reliable high-speed internet connection, and professional remote working environment are mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Export-Import Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Management, or a related field.
Certification or diploma in import-export management is preferred.
Previous experience with FMCG, food products, agricultural products, healthy snacks, frozen foods, or halal meat exports is highly desirable.
Knowledge of the USA food and retail market will be an advantage.
Experience using LinkedIn, B2B trade portals, CRM software, Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, or Walmart Marketplace is preferred.
Existing relationships with international buyers, distributors, or importers will be an advantage.

Working Hours

This is a full-time remote position. The candidate must be available for at least four working hours overlapping with the United States Central Time Zone to coordinate with the USA team.

Joining Requirement

Preference will be given to candidates who are available to join immediately.

Compensation

Salary will be determined according to the candidate’s experience, skills, import-export knowledge, and interview performance.

Performance-based incentives may also be offered for qualified leads, confirmed orders, and successful business development.
